| Quote: FickleFingerOfFate "So would you rather have Godinet spelling with McShane, with Godinet on the bench for a big chunk of the game?
Or would you have Howarth spelling with McShane, with Godinet spending a big chunk of the game on the field, next to Smith in the halves?
Would take Howarth over Miller every day of the week.
Since Howarth left us, he hasn't exactly dropped off into obscurity, he's had some decent clubs.'"
The only problem with Godinet in the halves with Smith is that Pita has no kicking game (like Sykes) to take the work load off Smith. Admitedly Miller has no kicking game either!

| Poor man's Danny Washbrook, but it would free up Godinet to play in the halves and allow McShane to be spelled when he becomes fatigued and a liability.

| I like Howarth when he was with us, and now seems to have developed a game at hooker.
Ok by me, especially if it means having Godinet in the halves

This
Surely with a new coach about to start, we shouldn't be moving any players in or out.
Give the new guy as much "wiggle room" as we can.

| We have had Griffin, Hand and Kavanagh on loan, offering nothing more than what we have.
Howarth offers options at hooker and loose.
Good player, underrated.

They actually offered us players to put on the park.

| I'd rather bring Sykes back and stick him with Smith while Godinet and McShane interchange, or bring back one of our own in Matty Wildie or James Davey to spel McShane. Howarth will be an equivalent signing to Miller = ineffectual.

Must be the office cat making the player decisions now, feel that he/she needs a pay rise, an extra large portion on fish Friday.

But didn't change the dynamics of the team.
Griffin played two or three games, did Hand even play?
Howarth can free up players to get more out of what we have.

Lets hope your right, because atm nothing would surprise me and it could also indicate a swap deal for McShane

That was my worry, they have been interested in him for a while. I also have to ask why this would be happening now before the coach comes in? As for Howarth himself he is a sticking plaster kind of player when others have short term injuries, not someone who you want playing at hooker week in week out. His distribution is painfully slow and neither is it particularly accurate. Any advantage of having Godinet on the field more would be mitigated by having him distributing the ball from dummy half.

| Before we get too excited, Hawarth is "tipped" to be a "loan" deal

| I'd like to think that rather than offloading McShane that Howarth is to work beside him, allowing McShane to be spelled, this would allow Godinet to play beside Smith.

| Deary me, Howarth is one of the worst Super League hookers I have ever seen. I was amazed he got a deal with Hull at the start of the season, so no surprise to see he is no surplus to requirements. A Championship standard player at best, not what Wakefield need.

If we believe the rumours, both Hull clubs' have shown interest in him and both clubs have shown in the past that they have the spending power and are not afraid to do so, McShane is out of contract at the end of the season and in all honesty can even the most optimistic of our supporters see him re-signing for us I certainly can't, without knowing the in's and out's of the situation i.e McShanes feelings atm Carters view on the situation and the temp coach's as well it would be nearly impossible to make any sense of it, but nothing would surprise me whatever the outcome.
