| Whoever they go for, I hope it's a proven appointment and not a cheap fix. As we've seen, cheapest is never best and does more damage in the long run.

| Ideal scenario for me is Kear coming back and us investing in a good back room staff.
A lot has been said about the smaller squad and smaller salary cap but I'd give up a player in the squad to get the right back room sorted.
It's an old fashioned amateur attitude now of having a coach and some part time guys helping out.
It needs to be professional conditioners and professional coaches who are on the way up, supporting an experienced leader.
When you look at Huddersfield who clearly have money so not the same as us, but their turnaround happened in the back room before it happened on the pitch. They are a well run club that players want to join. Unfortunately we are the bargain basement compared to most clubs and need to pick the areas to improve rather than just buy more players.

| He had to go and thankfully by resigning he has done the right thing and for that he deserves some respect for that. Telling though that once again Carter would not have sacked him. Just how bad did it have to get? Anyway he has gone and i just hope he doesn't even contemplate the Dickens route for longer than this weekends game.

Just a slight spin on why MC didn't sack either Agar or Webster.
Maybe he is canny enough to wait until they feel their position is no longer tolerable and decide to walk. In doing it this way there's no payout or golden handshake.

| In an ideal world for me it would be Kear until the end of the season working with the existing staff as i doubt we can afford to get rid right now. Then come the end of the season Kear to move upstairs to a director of rugby type role to advise Carter on playing matters as he obviously has no idea and also use his vast top level experience to act as a mentor to Glenn Morrision who would come in as head coach. He then can arrange his backroom staff as he sees fit.

Then he is a fool if so. The club has been publicly dragged through the mud over this last few weeks, culminating in much lost revenue and now an embarrassing cup exit on national tv. This has made us a laughing stock and has probably made the poor girl trying to flog sponsorship and corperates job twice as hard as well. And i doubt he will have just walked for nothing, there will be some agreement in place to help him find his feet even if it is just something like 3 months wages. So he will have saved the sum total of nowt.

| Feel a bit sorry for Webbo, things were looking good when he first took over. However there has since came an attitude in the team that seems to say they can't really be bothered when it comes to digging in, how much of that was down to Webbo or the players themselves I don't know. But if people think some ex Wakey player with and sp CV in coaching is gonna come in and miraculously change things, then I would think again. Even if it's John Kear, i'll give him 6 months before people are complaining about the boring rugby and want rid.

Bit of a sterch, you gain with one hand and lose with the other.
What many not just Carter don't get is that fans are not like a tap just to be switched back on.
When you give most people an excuse to leave they will and they will find something else to do and won't come back.
My sons done just that - supporter since he was 10 now 22 and can't be bothered. I don't see any chance of his return until he has a 10 year old son and I can't guarantee that.
The damage to what was already a poor supporter base over the last 18 month has IMHO been a disaster.

Nobody wanted him to fail so yes it is sad.
And yes they will, one win and the over expectation will begin.

I agree, it was just a suggestion because who knows how the mind of an accountant works in these situations

Interesting thoughts Boyem, but what anyone hasn't considered yet is the fact that Kear and Morrison are surely under contract at Batley and Dewsbury respectively !!! For this to happen, we would likely have to buy both their contracts out, which I'm sure won't come cheap, and with our Chairman's thrifty attitude, do we really think this will happen ???

Bit unfair that.
In my experience, it's exceptionally rare for anyone to fall on their sword in a genuine sense; regardless of the public announcement, these things are usually wrapped up in a compromise agreement.
What probably happened is that MC had a protected conversation with JW, they agreed terms for him to resign and hey presto, he left of his own accord and wasn't sacked, so doesn't carry that with him into his next endeavours. It happens all the time and is a much more sensible, well-managed way of removing someone.
I will accept that it should probably have been done sooner, but don't create the myth that Webster committed hara-kiri like a disgraced samurai - it's highly unlikely.

Sadly probably not. One thing is for sure if he takes the cheap option again then it will likely fail and cost him a lot more in the long run.

| I can think of quite a few players who should have gone before Webster one of which is our so called inspiring captain.
