"Stand by me as I stand by you, be brave and dare to dream".:

Quote: Kevs Head "You say you're basically left of centre but you're voting UKIP - an authoritarian right wing party. Go figure.'"

^^^^This (not a personal dig at anyone for voting UKIP though - that's their right).

UKIP are the greatest parlour trick the Tories have ever played.
The Tories have basically splintered and put their genuine right wingers into a separate party whilst maintaining their faux middle ground standing. This way when it comes to coalitions they won't need the lib deme or anyone else they'll simply pick up with their old Tory mates from UKIP and continue destroying the rights and values the left have struggled so hard to build up. All whilst convincing a large swathe of people that Thatcherites are on the side of the common man on the street. You really do have to applaud them for deceiving so many people.

Quote: Henny "For me it's very simple, without the NHS i and many on here would not be alive to vote.
I will vote for the party that created it and will continue to safeguard it.'"

Many people are not thanks to MRSA which was rife under Labours Andy Burnham's NHS.
At the end of the day if you want a strong NHS as we all do , then you first have to have a strong economy to be able to pay for it.
Something which Labour has never delivered in my time and I'm now in my late fifties.

Quote: steadygetyerboots-on "There are far too many unanswered questions and conundrums on both sides in this whole sorry debacle for my liking. On the face of it the council have let the club and the community down badly, but that started when they supported the whole scheme and sold their soul to the devil by reclassifying land (it's just plain wrong and it's the same with the 5 towns development). - you don't win or draw with big business, they win; it's as simple as that. That said I find the silence from Rodney walker; David hinchcliffe; Andrew glover & James elston deafening. Now this may change and if it does I'd feel in a better position to comment, but as things stand there's far too much information not in the public domain, but then again that's how big business works. By keeping the common man on the outside.'"

Fundamentally, after the SoS passed the 106, WMDC should want a successful development of the site for all parties as this would help the local economy and the local community.
The very fact that they say this is nothing to do with them and that it is a matter only for the developer, the community trust and Trinity says all that you need to know.

Nothing to do with them ?????

(Glover and Elston are no longer involved in either Trinity or The Community Trust)

Good try, Booker prize for you.

The greatest left wing parlour trick icon_wink.gif is to convince themselves that UKIP is a party of Right wingers. It may have a right wing agenda of sorts but it's appealing across the board and Labour simply can't accept that. Hence every UKIP supporter is branded a right wing loon and racist - I suppose we will see who's right soon enough.

Finally let's remember this thread was about the local election not national - a very different ballgame - excuse the pun.

Let's also remember this is an emotive subject over and above our stadium issues.
The debate is great and a credit to those on the board as this could easily get into a left and right argument but let's keep it that way.

No need for any personal comments or trolls.
I'll be watching trolls and won't be too patient about it.

Bizarrely the best result for getting shut of Box would be a Labour victory. At Council elections votes generally move against an unpopular government.

Quote: vastman "Typical arrogant self righteous left wing reaction, no surprise from someone who clearly doesn't get democracy or free choice. Go figure.

Did you bother to read my reasons for voting for them, I never said I supported them as a party. Go figure.

I won't vote Labour ever, one because they no longer are Labour but just a poor Tory substitute and two because they have more real fascist's in their ranks than Benito could shake a stick at. Go figure.

At no point have I excused any political movement left or right for the current financial state the world is in - but to suggest the Labour Government of 15 years was blameless, I say again ludicrous even if that wasn't what the poster meant - ludicrous rather like their leader - a man who has managed to make Farage and the Krankie look statesmanlike! ,go figure.

Enjoy your day, I'm sure eventually you'll get the power and UKIPpers will be up against that wall bop bop bop. Go figure. Wow - a few straw men in this rant. Please show me where exactly in my post I was arrogant, self righteous or showed that I don't understand democracy or free choice. In the meantime, vote for whom you want - there's really no need to try and justify your choice - but try to be less inttolerant of those who, God forbid, might not agree with you.

This is a point I keeping mentioning. When Gordon Brown was PM our local labour group came within a whisker of losing it's majority on the WMDC. Lets get Milliband in for the good of Wakefield (and many other rotten Labour boroughs)but for the detriment of the country.

Twice in this thread you've mentioned 15 years of labour government, you'd of thought anyone trying to argue their point in politics would get the basic information right before they Stuart spurting out the bull to at least give it some credence c020.gif
Btw blairs was voted in May 1997 re-elected 2001 and again 2005 then when Gordon Brown was PM he lost the 2010 general election now with the fingers on my hands and both my socks off I get that to 13 years icon_thumb.gif HTH icon_wave.gif

Seriously is that your best shot - you'll be claiming you "own me" me next - honestly that's truly pathetic - 13 years, you win the battle of the pedants - big wow, well done you must be proud icon_rolleyes.gif

By the way Kev this (bold text) is left wing arrogance, calling another persons opinion "bullish*t" because you assume you are correct - or at least I think that's what the halfwit is trying to say (not being arrogant, just stating the obvious).

Irony meter on overload - you really don't get - you clearly never read your post's back or do you think finishing a sentence with "Go figure" sin't condescending and arrogant - must be a hoot around your dinner table.
