| Quote: Willzay "If we are truly a Super League side we should go out to try and win each game as it comes, otherwise what's the point in turning up to games that we have no intention of winning?'"
It's not a case of not having any intention of winning, we should be putting 100% into every game. But you also have to be realistic based on the squad we have and the opposition we are playing against. If everyone is fit and raring to go great let them rip in. But for example if a key player is carrying a knock after last week then he should be managed correctly and rested for the Wigan game to ensure he is ready for the week after when the chances of getting a win are that much higher. We are probably a couple of wins from safety and the sooner we get them the sooner planning for next season can start in earnest to enable us to push on next year. We have to give ourselves the best chance of doing that with the limited resources we have available.

| I can see the attraction for a young coach wanting to make a name. What if they nearly pull it off? Will get them a job next year. Which gives Marc Green more bargaining power, as the new coaches want the Bulls more than the Bulls want them. Unless Noble does it for nothing, they need him more than he needs them.
It's a tough ask. All we need to do is win the games we should win, and maybe pick up the odd surprise. If Webster carries on where Agar left off, it is very doable for the Bulls.

| Quote: bellycouldtackle "I think that any good, strong coach could do well at Bradford. A squad that includes Gale, Gaskill, Olberson, Carney, Purtill, Manufakoso ( sp ), Addy, Kear, Foster, Diskin, etc etc should, and I fear, will improve. I suspect they will win a few games, the nightmare is that on the last day of the season Bradford will need to go to London and win and we will need to go to Cas and win in order to stay up.'"
Even for you this is contorted logic.
You said and I quote (roughly) "Cummins is an exceptional young coach". You said the about two weeks ago!!!
So who is this super coach then who can do better and win Bradford 4 games minimum. Not saying it's impossible hell we did it but it's not the certainty you seem to suggest.
As for the Bradford players listed if we had signed them I guarantee you'd be telling us how crap they all are whilst those lads at Bradford like Collis, Anderson, Ryan and Godinet (any Wakey player) are brilliant - that's how contrary you have become. Both Bradford and Wakefield are equally poor, stop trying to big Bradford up to make whatever point you're trying to make. Come on belly I know you can do better with your sparkling Eton repartee .

Absolutely.
It's far too simplistic to say, "we should try to win every game!" That's armchair coaching taken to extremes.
Modern RL is about squad management and ensuring that you optimise your efforts in those areas that are most likely to yield the best results; taking into account player fatigue, injuries, strengths and weaknesses relative to those of the opposition, effect on final league placings etc etc ad infinitum. There are a huge amount of variables and no amount of internet pontificating will simplify that process - that's why so few of us are SL coaches.

| I said Cummins is an very impressive young man, I was refering to the way he has conducted himself whist at Bradford. He has never moaned and just got on with it. I could not comment on his coaching ability. I also would be happy to swap sick note Collis for any Bradford player, and I am concerned that Godinet may not be up to speed, though I suspect he has been poorly managed by Agar, his display against London made Seiker look good. Bradford and Wakefield are not equally poor. Bradford have proven that they are considerably better than us. I believe that Bradford, for whatever reason, have underperformed, their squad on paper is a very good side. We on the other hand have not underperformed, we had a poor coach and a poor squad. I think that our club have done the best job possible within their budget, I think that Smith will improve us and that Webster can`t do any worse that Agar. The combined weakness of mind and lack of leadership displayed by our palyers in the first half against London was staggering, the good news was that Webster got them to improve for the second half. I also thought that our defence looked better organised which is encouraging. Lets hope we can show improvement against Wigan.

I;ve never known you ever think we have a good squad, that's your opinion. But to state the current Bradford squad is better than ours is IMHO wrong. They are roughly the same and I reckon you know that deep down.

| It was interesting on RL Fulltime last night that John Kear did not deny that he could be in line for the Bulls job. It would be ironic if he was leading the fight for them to avoid relegation at our expense.

| It gives me no pleasure to draw your attention, Vasty , to our recent results against Bradford that I think prove my point re the relative merits of our squad v Bradfords squad. Lets look at selecting a team from the two squads.
Carney, Kear, Purtil, Walshaw, Foster, Gale, Tim Smith, Moore, Diskin, Manuofaka, Kirmond, Olbison, Donaldson
Tautai, McShane, Ali, Walker.
I don`t think even you can argue with that Vasty.

Foster can't even get in the Bradford team, bar goal kicking either of our wingers are better than him. Collis (if you're picking Ali then injury records don't count) for Purtill, Ryan for Olbison, Anderson for Walker. All improves that side imho.

Think I can but I won't bother because your just choosing to be negative for the pure sake of it - I mean Foster, give me a break.
Bradford have been beating us for years, just like we've been beating Hull and Widnes for years - and low and behold this year went to script - don't know, why it just happens - does not make Bradford a good team or Hull and Widnes poor ones does it.

To miss out Ryan says it all really.

| So you would drop Kirmond and play Ryan. I think not, and you would be plain mad to drop Olison who is a fantastic player. That said you must be mad if you think Collis, who is average on a good day is better than Purtil. Which of our wingers is better than Foster, Owen ? Mathers ? I think not, Luke George gets in ahead of our wingers.

Of course I would, just because you think he's the bees knees doesn't mean he is. No offence but I've never found your opinion on players to be any more accurate or concise than 99% of the other posters on here, me included.
You appear to be suggesting Olison is better than Kirmond which demonstrates to me your either barking mad or on a wind up.
Owen IMO always has been a way better player than Foster, you seem to one of the few people to highly rate the walking hair cut. Mathers isn't a winger, so a silly point. I'd actually agree with you about George but Lynne is better than Foster despite your pathological dislike of hi broken toe.
Also whenever I meet you in the flesh you are far less negative than this, mmm
It's all opinions, but your wrong.
