| Seen super league full time now and yes amors was a shocker.I never thought the lad had that side to his game. If ali's was a high tackle we may as well all give up on the game.

| Quote: Adam_Harrison9 "If this blatant, cynical and dangerous attack of the head doesn't constitute a red card then I have no idea what does. It was as bad as Morley against the Aussies. I like Amor but that swinging arm was indefensible and I have no idea how Roby failed to show him the red card. Spineless.'"
Totally agree.
Amor didn't enjoy being pushed just after the ptb and responded with a "haymaker".
Straight red, no messing, all day long, but not at Wakefield with a clown reffing the game.
As far as the Ali challenge goes, what else was he supposed to do, Lomax slipped into contact.
I wasn't happy on Sunday but, second viewing is even worse.
There should be plenty of apologies from our friends in St Helens who tried to defend Amor and Lomax recovery was of biblical proportions, it's a miracle !

| The referee should be banned along with Amor and Wilkin. He was an absolute joke especially not sending off Amor when he was in close proximity to the punch being thrown.

Turns out Alex McKinnon has fractures to C4& C5 vertebrae, not sure on spinal cord damage yet.
Cameron Smith was heard complaing to ref blaming McKinnon for tucking his head in.
An awful looking tackle that has turned out much worse.'"
Just seen this and its nothing short of sickening. Horrendous position for someone to be put in. And even with all the officials and video replay im amazed how nobody was sent off.

Best idea so far but we both know that won't happen

And to those suggesting Lomax milked a penalty
On the Lomax injury I completely agree. I don't see Lomax as the kind of player to milk a penalty and he clearly did hit his head. The only issue was with the referee that couldn't see that the impact was nothing to do with Ali. There was no where for him to go and there was a possibility of him injuring himself as well with a player falling towards his knees.
Amor, I disappointed with him for that one. I saw it quite close live and now on replay and both showed to me he clearly aimed his shot.....and was right on target. He was under the refs nose too. Poor decision by both Amor and Roby (ref)
He didn't show anything like this before so I assume it was a one off. Clearly has an issue with lanky, ginger aussies but I hope he sorts that out of his game quickly.
I was further away for Wilkin's effort but he seemed to have two shots for me. They ddin't cover this in the Sky replay. He hit him high but I could be convinced that it was an accident at speed (though still more than a penalty on the day) but then followed up with a swing while Riley was on the floor. I think Wilkin is a great talent but he would have gone further in the game if he'd left this out of his game imho. He has form all the way through his career for wild tackles. That discipline has hurt him compared to Farrell, Sculthorpe, Sinfield and O'Loughlin who he was competing with but were more disciplined.

| Wilkin's effort looked pre-meditated to me. He went in with a leading arm and knew what he was doing. For the play to carry on for 2 minutes after just added insult to injury. Amor's was a clear head shot too.
The worst thing about all this on report business is that the team who are the victims never benefit. It will be Leeds benefiting from it next week. The on report system really does need looking at, there are 5 officials on the field, you're not telling me none of them saw the incidents.

| Didnt have a great view of the Lomax/Ali and Amor/Ryan incidents at the game, thought some of the comments about the incidents on here may have been rose tinted but just seen the highlights.
Slip by Lomax and Ali goes to tackle him but accidentally slaps him round the face as hes going down, Lomax acts like hes just been knocked out. Amor throws a blatant right rook at Ryan from behind and doesnt even get a card.
To add insult to injury Amor only gets a one match ban for blatantly trying to knock someone out, yet Collis gets 2 games for something out of nothing. What a joke, no wonder people say the game is bent towards the 'bigger teams'

And to those suggesting Lomax milked a penalty I didn't know his reputation previously but I hope that isn't the start of something we would rather not have. We have enough to deal with in Jon Wilkin who has now left us without an organising halfback of any description for the most important game of our season so far plus Leeds. I haven't seen Wilkin's tackle but I can imagine it because I saw the one he was banned for last year.
Amor is eligible for EGP and Saints usually claim it and move on. But Wilkin isn't eligible as he was banned 11 months ago and so he'll get two matches. If his tackle was anything like Amor's then he deserves it.
However, us fans don't.'"
To be honest it seemed completely out of character - I don't recall him reacting like that in all the games he played for us.
Having said that it was blatant and calculated in my opinion and deserving of a higher grade offence than the disciplinary have given it.

| I could not condone a red card unless it was given with mal intent... Even then I wouldn't.
Did you mean "what constitutes a red card?"

I'm surprised it took 6 pages for someone to spot that!

| I think it is clearly time for a review of the current on-report system. Without having been at the game or seen the video yet, my comment about this is about the gathering evidence that the report system is now resulting, deliberate or otherwise, in ref's taking the easy way out.
The report system was introduced to allow ref's to report incidents which they were unsighted on, but maybe were seen by the touch judge or just based on some suspicion that something untoward had taken place. Now, if after a game the video review panel and then the disciplinary panel end up banning 2 players for one game or more, then you have to question either the competence of the ref or the system allowing the ref to opt out of making a decision on the field. It would seem to me that Mr Roby may be guilty of both!
The acid test for me is that we should be getting more red or yellow cards than players that end up been found guilty subsequently by the displinary panel. If not then why not, because either too many incidents are being missed by poor ref'ing OR the report system is being used to opt out of making the decision there and then, which is not ideal because indeed it fails to deal with the problem there and then hand a potential advantage to the team whom have been offended against.
I would also like to see the yellow card been allowed to be used for foul play too and not just professional or technical offences. I would rather see a ref make a call and say, I am not sure if that deserves a red card (currently the only step-up from a penalty for foul play) but a penalty is not really adequate, so 10 mins in the bin and then also put the incident on report to see if a suspension is also required, would be preferable to me to opting out of any action at all.
The report system appears to be no longer either fit for purpose OR is being incorrectly used by ref's.
