| Quote: 18th Man "Personally, the job I have is a very demanding and time consuming one, I am always bringing work home and far too often have to offload the kids at weekends to get caught up. Going to watch Wakey takes a good four plus hours from my family time, sorry but I am not willing to give that up to watch a selling, uncompetitive club that just keeps letting us fans down. I need to see evidence that we want to compete next year and all I'm currently seeing is evidence that we are setting ourselves up to be Leeds 'dual reg' team in the Championship.'"
Tut tut
With regard to the second part, as I have said previously on another post, we've 3 months to go, a little patience is in order. Now go and change a nappy, that will keep you busy

| Quote: PHe "But if your figure is correct, it still doesn't help the current situation, those savings are for next season not today. If HMRC come calling or the gas bill arrives on the doormat, what do you pay them with?
The money we get from transfer fees, season ticket and merchandise sales, sponsors daft enough to pay now before the season starts etc is what pays the £400k we needed to pay bills (and this figure is apparently rising as items 'come out of the woodwork')'"
Yes I've heard the same. However The dynamic duo have been gone for quite a while now and carter has been in charge a good three months. Seems a bit strange that people who are owed money have waited all this time to start demands.
I would have thought they would have an accurate financial picture long before now. Still we can only accept what we are told, time will tell.

| Wow melt down over an unconfirmed rumour
Players come players go look at the club site from 1963 is the club still here?
There's more to life than being suicidal on sport whilst there is a club to watch I will be there regardless

Of course the Kirmo thing is just rumour at present but, IF we've sold him for 200k, then its good business, regardless of the fact that he's our captain.'"
I would like DK to stay, but if we've sold him for 200k then its sad but is good business. I like everyone on here would love to keep him but if the reality his keep him or save the club? for me its Trinity every time. The 2012 squad was cobbled together, they started off slowly, defensively a shambles but reasonable going forward. As the season progressed, confidence grew and they over achieved. Aiton, T. Smith, Amor and Kirmond were all brought in and gambled upon. They clicked, Smith turned out to be a good signing, Amor developed from a prospect to a first team player and Kirmond became a good player and captain. He started to show his qualities. He also put back a little local pride, a local lad as captain. Over achieving obviously led to us running before we could walk. This coupled with a load of waffle from a double glazing salesman (never trust a double glazing salesman). Its really sad to see this core of a team disbanded but its better than seeing Trinity close down for good.
None of these players were here three years ago but the club was. It brushed itself down and started again. I don't know if MC is here for the long term, I'm pretty sure he doesn't. But if he can make the club into a business that operates within its budget and put it on an even keel then I'm happy he's here at the moment. If you've built once you can always build again, its just it hurts a bit more as you get older.
Saying all that I'd love to keep DK and build a team around him, local players who care and want to play for Trinity, supplimented with a few quality players. Oh............ and World peace.

| You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be one
Think its inevitable that if Salford are willing to pay anything over 100k for Kirmond he will be sold to clear debt. Sounds like we've got fees for Tim Smith and Aiton but not Poore as desperate to get him off the wage bill but surely 80-100k saved there at least alone?
I'm hoping that we have 5/6 SL standard players on standby (Richard Moore, Matt Wildie and Mark Offerdahl)to announce their signings once Kirmond and Cockayne are eventually sold.
Remember two seasons ago Agar was making noises about a team built at last minute with little pre season? It's happening again although the opening day win against Widnes would be good. Pre season has started hasn't it?
His hands are probably tied tight as Daddy Cool must surely know that even the announcement of Wildie being signed on a 1 year contract would give some relief from all the doom and gloom and give a little hope to encourage season ticket sales.
Most except for the diehards will not pay to see a 'pub team' play next year as they must at least be competitive.

| I don't want him to go but it's not the end of the world. We could walk a financial precipice and not sign other needed players just to keep him, and then he could get a season-ending injury in the first game. He is 100% commitment, and that is the quality we should be looking for in replacements, and sometimes that can be found cheaply.
Remember Richard Moore before he fell ill? Remember that Danny Kirmond was an unwanted cast-off from Huddersfield when he came to us, and we shoved him out on the wing. There are countless players who have surprised us, and there as many who have disappointed us. Let's see what February brings, not November.l

dont you agree,
when he said if we sell 3000 st no one would go, i rushed out and signed up for 2 platinums,
680 pound ,do you think its fair on me now all the players have gone wich i paid to watch.'"
I don't know that.
Thanks to you and the others who rushed out and stumped up the money, maybe if another 1500 had done so we'd be able to hang on, they didn't and we can't (and thats not a dig its just a fact of life)
Its up to each individual to decide what they do at this point and i would not blame those who feel enoughs enough.
Sadly i can't walk away i was born with it in my blood and while ever we have a team called Wakefield Trinity at whatever level, count me in.
Just remember who put us at ground zero.

| Facts: MC said he would build a team around Kirmo.....but would sell anyone if the price was right and we needed the monies and we had not hit the 3000.
Fact: Danny was at the book launch yesterday as a speaker and spoke very well . He basically said we should be grateful MC & CB have stepped in, that he was happy to sign his 3 year contract and that his proudest moment was leading his hometown club out to play that play off game at Leeds. That team spirit is good. He also said as far as he is aware he is not going anywhere.
Fact: a sponsor has sponsored him for next season - to play for Wakey
Please can we help the club by accentuating the positive as makes it easier to attract investors be they season ticket holders, sponsors or multi millionaires. I would like to know who said he was going to Salford and why its changed in the 24 hrs since I spoke to danny

Exactly right. Some people seem hellbent on turning us into the next Ratners. Almost acting as some kind of double "Agent", pursuing an agenda.
(For those under 30, Ratners was a jewellers who sold cheap jewellery. Gerard Ratner told a shareholders meeting that they sold "crap". People stopped buying. They went bust.)

Contract may have been less than 100k but with add ons may have crept up over 100k.

I'd guess it was taken out of his hands.
