Just for once, I came away from a meeting at Belle Vue convinced that I had heard the truth and not a pipe dream. You should invest in the club because it's your club. I have invested because the Chairman, who I have to say comes across as being 100% honest and committed, assured the meeting that the club will NOT fold.
I am convinced that MC and his team will straighten things out and not spend money we don't have. If the team spirit is the same as that of the supporters which came over in the meeting, then we are in with a shout of staying in SL next season but only if EVERYONE gets on board. JE is at the club because, in the opinion of the chairman he has something to offer the club. look forward, not back!'"
^^This^^
I know some supporters think SL is the be-all and end-all and that we should do whatever we can to stay in it. The question is, how many times does the club have to find itself in this situation before those people realise it is not possible with the income levels we have (and without that sugar daddy).
We could go into admin (again) but this would mean losing our SL status anyway (as I understand it), or we can fight on in a more sustainable manner, only spending what we can afford to spend. We might not make the 12 but at least it will have been decided on the field, where we all want it to be decided. Whatever team we start the season with has a better chance of making the 12 than if we don't start it at all.
I truly believe what we have been told this time, let's face it Michael Carter has hardly tried to sugar coat it has he? We know what is needed and WE are the only ones that are going to make it happen.

| Do you seem to forget that MC has been involved with the club since 2012, and what is he trained in? Surely he should have seen what was going on...
My personal opinion is that the club sells who they have to, get rid of the debt if WT are in the championship then fine better being there debt free than struggling to survive in SL. Fans of the club will always go no matter what level

I think you have summed it up pretty well. But whatever ever path is chosen I think life in the championship is a strong possibility.
However I have been out of the loop for while so I missed quite a bit of all this.
SO CAN ANYONE ANSWER PLEASE.
Have the club said if all else fails, life in the championship is sustainable at Belle Vue ?
I am thinking about the rent and upkeep required to remain there, could we do it on championship income ?

The problem is, what is that?
I keep saying it, we have to look back to not make the same mistakes over and over and over, and you can understand why some would be reticent to believe that he still has a role to play in moving the club forward, in the same was no-one would want Rogerson back.

| There are so many posters who remind me of the foreign character in a film ( don't know what it was) who exclaims,
Criticising Glover, Carter, Elston etc is dead easy but the fact is we are where we are and Carter is proposing a way of moving forward. The "no nowts" on here criticise, moan and groan and want us to be starting from somewhere else. Unless we have a few (hundred) thousand to invest in the club we can do nothing but buy a ST, join 1873, join Foxy, volunteer etc and trust people like Carter who, on the face of it seems eminently sensible. Stop criticising, support the club - if we go in to the Champs it's not the end of the world just where we realistically belong AT THE MOMENT. I'm not rose tinted just realistic - keep the faith, we still have a club to support.

| Stopping the criticism has got us in to this mess time and time again. If it's constructive, it's not a problem.

It's pointless. It's like the passengers on the Titanic arguing over whether the captain should have gone left or right, faster or slower to avoid the iceberg.
Mmmmh not the best analogy perhaps but you get my meaning.

The cynic in me believes the thing he can offer is not bringing an employment tribunal against the club at a time when they can ill afford it, I’m guessing some of the financial issues may have partially been brought on with the ‘dismissal’ of the club’s previous management and the court cases that will have involved.
Looking at it objectively his tenure as CEO has seen crowds improve greatly (although I question actual figures announced), improved access to merchandise, a greater match day atmosphere and up until it all started tumbling down a genuine positive perception of the club both inside and out. Now if he can do the same but on a limited budget and not a seemingly open cheque book then he will be worth keeping hold of despite these mystery investors who are apparently waiting in the wings for him to go before they will part with their money.
Time will ultimately tell.

To put it another way, ship designers can learn from the disaster to make future liners more robust when encountering an iceberg, or passenger cruise companies can learn of the pitfalls transatlantic voyages may incur and put in procedures to mitigate the risks. If we keep glossing over the issues of the past we’ll keep making the same mistakes.

I think Championship Rugby is inevitable once the new structure comes in.....

| As an outsider looking in I've just read this entire thread and it doesn't make very pleasant reading. As a rugby league fan I think it would be a great loss if Trinity were to drop out of Super League. I'm sure everyone at the club is doing their best but can I ask if the local newspaper are helping in any way. They're the perfect medium to get the message to the public and they might just persuade one or two more fans to buy their season passes.
The best of luck to you all.

Yes but ship designers know what they're talking about.
I presume MC and others have already made their analyses without help from this forum. As I've said - if you want to influence the direction of this club get a few hundred k out of the bank. If you can't do that, do whatever you can that's helpful - get a few more people to buy STs etc - but keep positive.

Cheers Hessle, thanks for your support.
Although there are plenty of supporters who are willing to back our new management, unfortunately we are in a situation which, to many people is very similar to where we were 2 1/2 years back and it takes a hell of a lot of resolve and determination to keep getting back up again, so you can forgive the folk who are less than happy with
our plight.
Our new chairman has said that we will be in SL next season, so we will see you at the KC and at our place, although I hope that we can get at least 2 points from you next season.
The home game against you guys, when we were probably expected to win, seemed to be a turning point, so lets hope its onwards and upwards.

Cheers.
What's the chance of us convincing a few of your guys to buy season tickets for Wakey? Certainly seems to be a few who won't be buying them for the KC if your message boards are anything to go by.
We're a friendly bunch, you'll all be made welcome (well your cash will!!)
