I find it really hard to comment on your post. They are so far from reality I can only assume you are on a wind up.

| The bookies have us as favourites on the handicap, with Salford having 4 points start on the coupon.
The Red Devils have been in poor form of late, getting hammered last week and surely Dr K and Mr Noble will be looking for some sort of positive reaction after that performance so, it's going to be a tough game.
If we don't give away needless penalties we can take the 2 points but, Tuatai is going to be a big miss for us.
Come on Trin !

| Tim Smiths one on one tackles are poor but if you have a look back at some games he often makes the second or third man in.As for his passing of the ball he is probably at the top of the tree in SL some of those passes show great awareness of space around him.Lets face facts here if his one on one tackle was top notch he wouldnt be in SL let alone at Wakey.

| I think you should appreciate that Tim Smith does expectionally well for a player with his disability. He guides you around the park and his passing game is top-notch. What more do you want.

Most Wakey fans are more than happy to have Tim Smith in our side. Just the odd few that like to find fault with absolutely everything that think he should be better. As said before if he had ALL the attributes he wouldn't be here would he??

Simply can't agree with you and the others on this one Fordy - even though I usually do.
I think you've gone to far the other way.
No player for me is beyond reproach. Although I agree that if Tim Smith was the complete player we wouldn't have him I do feel we are entitled at the very least to the best Tim Smith. I feel this season especially since Sykes injury he hasn't been close to that.
He needs to get back on form. It's OK saying he is being picked on unfairly but when you are a highly paid marque player surely it comes with the territory, you take the applause you have to accept the boo's to a degree. I don't like scapegoating players however it's far easier to defend lesser players who simply can't be any better than they are or youngsters with a lot to learn but when you can be a good as Smith can be it's a little harder.
I feel there is room for genuine criticism where Tim Smith is concerned so long as it's reasonable and that people remember he is part of a team that's not playing well.

I agree that he should be criticised when not performing, same as any other Vasty.
I think he has had a few games this season when he has not performed, Cas being one.
However, I do jump to his defence when people say he isn't trying, or even that he hasn't got skills (eg. he just throws the ball without looking). That is just not understanding what he does rather than pointing out when he has a bad game.

I wouldn't say any player should ever be beyond reproach but as we saw last season, Tim Smith needs a foil that works well with him. Sykes was that towards the end of last season and that's when we saw the best of him. This season has been a bit disappointing from a form point of view, but no more so than the start of last season before Sykes came in.
We need Sykes back (or to get someone else who can work well with Smith) and then we'll start to see more from him again IMO.
I'd still much rather have him in the team than not, but I'm the first to admit that others are entitled to their opinions too.

I've left this for a while, but, even the TV pundits tonight mentioned Smiths looking one way ,passing/kicking the other. Brilliant when it comes off, but bloody awful when it doesn't work. Tonight it worked, and all power to him , and the team, fantastic result and 100% from all the players, can't knock them at all. But when it hasnt worked (and it hasn't for half the season so not bagging the effort tonight) a stint on the sidelines wouldnt go a miss for smith, looks like its done him the world of good.

The sidelining was imho only a fitness rest
The point about the pass is that he intends it and it is a very deceptive pass.
He doesn't just throw it without looking.
I can't honestly say I have seen him do it when it has caused a problem. It might not always work, same as any other pass.
You may as well add kicking without looking to his flaws as well as he did that for Mathers try.
I realise he has flaws, so is not beyond criticism but we are worlds apart on our opinion as I think his no look pass is world class and you seem to think it is a bit of luck.

| Thought he was very good last night for us, but I don't think you can underestimate the role that Sykes played - I don't think its a coincidence that we see the best of Smith with Sykes on the park at the same time, and vice versa. Fair enough the pack got right ontop and did their job very well and we weren't playing against a particularly well drilled side but you can only beat what's infront of you and we certainly did that very, very well. His kicking game was fantastic and really helped us, something that we have rarely seen from him.
I don;t think for one minuet that a decent win against (probably) the worst side in the league papers over the cracks we have, and we do have issues that need addressing and several question marks over us, but it was great to watch and very enjoyable.
Well played boys, same again for London and lets try build some momentum like last year.

| That kick for Mathers' try was as good as you'll see - didn't get too much love from Sky though, they were too busy hoping against hope that Fages would live up to their hype.
Nice to finally hear Clarkey describe Smith as the best passer of the ball in SL - he is.

Couldn't agree more.
I love the no look pass but he appears to have a no look kick now.
