| So, are we spending the money on another player or paying off some debts? my concern is that if sykes or smith get injured we have kyle wood, who is upto the job, but is currently operating out of 9 with aiton and whichever way we look at it, we'd be left with bobby goulding jnr or matty wildie to step into the halves or hooking role and both, in my opinion, arent upto superleague standard.

| Good luck to him. He will be better developing himself with more game time.

| Heard that Salford have signed a half from Aussie Liam Foran. Isaac and Liam were at the same club (Warriors) and they let Liam go - wasn't there for long, so not sure if Liam will be an asset for Salford or not. But think Liam would of had a lot more game time for himself over the last two years than Isaac. Liam and his brother both played for Manly. His brother is great. All the best for Isaac i am sure he will be wrapped to be able to get more game time. A win-win situation for Wakey and Isaac.

| Dissapointed it didnt work out for him/us. Does it leave us short in the halves?
Without Smith i wouldnt really fancy Wood, Wildie or Sykes to lead us round the park. Having said that i dont suppose much has changed as you could have stuck IJ on that list also.
If the rumors of Mellars to Salford came true, you would have thought we must have somebody lined up, surely? From what i can gather, the money VM is on, we could bid for pretty much anyone! (pure gossip/speculation i must point out)

| Nice to see IJ's comments about the situation - to summarise, he says that he and the club have reached a mutual agreement and that WTW have acted very professionally throughout.
Makes a nice change!
Good luck to the lad - he became surplus to requirements through no fault of his own and I hope it all works out for him.

Wood is fine and has a lot more game time with the team than Isaac, he is also a natural 7 not 9 IMO.
Wildie is a 9 for me, hard worker but not the craft for a H/B.

| Agree with regards Wildie. Not so sure on Wood. Think he would be fine at scrum half in the Championship but not convinced at Super League level, but thats my own personal opinion.
As it stands if we did go a half back down, depending on the opposition, i wouldnt be surprised to see Agar using Washbrook there as he did on a few occasions at Hull. Anyway, fingers crossed we dont lose any!

used to be a fullback but i dont recall him being a half back.
having said that i don't really think Sykes is a half either.

I think Smith could do it but not a long term answer.
mathers did turn out there for Leeds in the early days and you can tell he still plays that style when he's in the line so I'd probably play Smith at Fullback and Mathers at 6 if it came to it.
But obviously that is a temporary fix. I'd rather have mildly experienced half back.
