| Quote: Fordy "According to the Trinity Programmes site then I guess it was one of these two
1973/74 9 Dec 1973 Home Leigh League 26 8 Won
1974/75 28 Sept 1974 Home Leigh John Player 44 10 Won
What a great source of information that website is!'"
Thanks for that Fordy, it was a sunny day and quite warm so it must have been the John Player Trophy match for my first Trinity game. A few of my faves over the years: Sheffield in the Yorkshire Cup final, beating Wigans team of superstars when Steve Ella was majestic, beating Leeds at home when we were miles behind and Michael Jackson scored the winning try late on and Leeds again a couple of seasons ago when Tronc played and Broughy starred, these are just a few of many that stick in the memory, I must check out this website with all the past results, it sounds amazing.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

We were losing at half time and didn't look in it. Then came back and stole it with two late tries. Think we won 14-12? Atmosphere was great that day and one of my favourite matches.

Would that be Lyndsey Rotherforth?
We also had Tracey Lazenby who played a range of positions including stand off. I never forget hearing that he was seen knocking back a couple of whiskeys in the bar at Oldham prior to coming out half an hour later to play at The Watersheedings. I can't confirm that, but heard it from a few people who claimed to have seen it.

so we won by a drop goal
bovril
I'd be lying if I could remember my first game, what I do remember though is my dad carrying a old wooden orange box for me to stand on and walking through the passage way where the bar was to switch ends
it always seemed packed

| I think all clubs have "where were you when Kennedy got shot" games. By that I mean games that attract a lot of interested people and due to the teams performance on the day hook them.
One such game was Wakefield's defeat of the all conquering Wigan team at the start of the 1988 -89 season. A newly promoted Trinity team didn't just beat Wigan they destroyed them. I reckon that game hooked a fair few. There have been others, the 2006 Cas game, Hull in 2004 but for some reason that game sticks in many peoples minds. That was my first game.

| I know for definate the first game I went to was the first home game of the 2004 season, can't say I remember who we were playing, but I remember me and my dad were both hooked from there!
I remember thinking after that first season how much we would improve the season afterwards... oh blind ambition!!!

| My first game was an'A' team game, I think in 1958, at Belle Vue,I don't remember who we were playing but I rember Ken Hirst had a good game.A few years later in the watersplash final at Wembley he scored the try that almost won the challenge cup for Wakefield.
There were no floodlights then ,so all games started at three PM ,no silly kick-off times.

| Wakefield 6 Leeds 28 in the CC 77/78 followed by Wakefield 15 Wire 11 and Wakefield 36 STS 23 my first away game was at Bradford in the JPS we lost 16 13 I think Henderson Gill got the winner for my money he was short of the line and Bill Ashurst scored a great try under the sticks Neil Fox was sub for Bradford

I'm a happy depressive - the glass is half empty but the bar is open.: |
|
| Neil Fox's 2nd testimonial game in 1979 - went along to sell programmes with a couple of friends from school - then went to sell the programmes at the Bradford v Wakefield league game the next week or so - then bought a season ticket for Trinity.
