| If we need a utility in the back line, or a full back if Mathers doesn't sign, I'd look at Murphy.
He is wasted at Giants. He would surely prefer to come back to us that sit on the bench or not at all!
I think he made a bad decision going there but of course we were not in a good place then. We are now.

For me it would be Fox as he does more work taking the ball up than Foster.Give Fox the ball in a tight situation near the line and for me he edges Foster out as the one who would score.'"
Foster - exactly the kind of winger we don't make use of
Fox - exactly the kind of winger we do make use of

Agree completely
See Andrew Frew/Paul Sampson for comparison with Foster

| I would be happy to see murphy back at Wakefield to fill the full back role. Always thought that was his best position.
Not sure whether hudds would let him go. He fits the utility tag if needed aswell.

| Foster is an average SL winger at best, it just happens that he can kick a goal. Think Dale Morton with a kicking boot. He has nowhere near the pace of Sampson or Frew. Give me Fox over him everyday of the week.

I'm ok with that. Of you added Fielden it is an expensive backup
I'd rather go with Kirke and a young guy who is working towards that like Gledhill than a big pay packet not playing.
Of course if we sign a big NRL prop I'd be happy but I wouldn't sign Kirke then.
For me, build slowly but surely and surely. Short term mavericks won't work for this team. I wonder whether Fielden would be one of those.'"
We've lost Johnson & Spiers and if we get any injuries unlike this season where we were fairly lucky we'd be in trouble. Think we need a couple of big props to add (NRL/Bargain SL standard prop like Kirke hopefully plus an up & coming prop from lower divisions) plus another quality pacey outside back as pressure for places.

Foxy is a better finisher and has more guts than Foster will ever have.
Foster is another of Eddie and Stevos overblown young players - I reckon he will be at Leigh in two years time unless his goal kicking saves him.
For all his flaws Foxy for me.
Possibly, but then again that doesn't say much if Andy Ellis has ended up at fev!!!
Either way i don't think there is much in it but the goal kicking is a real asset if required.'"
Agree, much rather have Fox than Foster, I don't rate him one bit.

Having lost Johnson, spires as you say and James ooc? (sure he only signed a year) that is 3 props down and we were one short anyway.
Kirke - would be a direct replacement for Johnson and add the solidarity PJ did but the size he didn't.
A.N.Other - hoping for a quality prop here who can offload and break the line. Big ask to find and should be the big name signing ideally. Think Manukafoa at bulls could be tempted.
James - Thought he showed up well in the games he did feature this year so would retain.
Wing for me is not an issue, foxy and Ben are the catalyst in getting our attack on the front foot early in the tackle count. Long may that continue.
Be tempted to look at a quality centre and move smith to full back. That Lulia from bulls might be worth a look too.

Spending any sizable amount of cap space on wingers would be a waste. They aren't perfect but probably the right balance between cost and effectiveness in what is a peripheral position

Matt James signed a two year deal.

I stand corrected, hopefully will contribute more after another full time pre-season.
