| Its all well and good saying 6 or 7 of the players were not Agars choice but lets look at how things went.Agar was rumoured to be the new coach weeks before it was announced and it was denied he was by some in higher places than us plus the club said nothing. For weeks before I kept getting it from staff at our Hull office that Agar was on his way out and over to us.It all appeared to be cloack and dagger at the time so how do we know for sure they were not Agars recomendations.

| Why so much drama? He's gone to Fev on a month long loan, for very obvious reasons.
Quote: said Agar.
"Game time has been hard to come by for Andy, particularly with the form of Paul Aiton, and when he has played he has probably been a little undercooked as a result," said Agar.
"Despite his lack of matches he's been a model professional, never let his head go down and worked his hardest every day."
"We see this as a great opportunity to get some time out on the field in a good side and help him strengthen his claims for a place when he returns.
'"

| I agree some comments are a little over the top, i suppose many fans looked forward to this player coming to the club and playing but we'll have to wait a bit longer for him.
In Agar we trust.

Hey go easy on the Haribo they don't need tarring with the Agar brush!

I think that is what most people seem to think, me included. I don't read the situation as offloading him to Fev to keep him fit for when his chance comes along. I don't think his chance is going to come-he's on his way out.
My thoughts are he should have been given more of a chance to share the No.9 role with Aiton, I think he's better at that position than Wood, who in my opinion is a SH. Wasn't he on the fringe of the England set up last season? Just seems an expensive waste of talent but there it goes I'm not the coach!

Couldn't it mean 'not as good as the two options in front of him at hooker, so on loan to keep fit/sharpen up?'
It strikes me as bizarre to suggest that a Head Coach, who's key performance indicator is on-field performance, would snub players who he knew to be better than others, simply because he didn't perceive them as 'his' signings.
If James Elston had signed Greg Inglis prior to Mr Agar's arrival, would he be on his way up to Mount Pleasant for a stint with Batley?

Which 'old boy' is coming back? I can only think it'd be worth getting Korkidas or Obst back. It'll probably be Tommy Lee at hooker!

| We'll know in a month whether he has a future here. Its a big month on the pitch for us. We go well then Agar will be proved right and i doubt he'll be back. We struggle and he should be given a chance.

While i don't disagree its seems bizarre to drop a player, our player of the year last season and a good go forward player to the 20's and player a hooker at prop from a bench that had no go forward.
I feel thats an even more bizarre.
Hopefully there is a good rugby reason for this call.

I dont think he has dropped him his form is not as good Aiton paul has the shirt Ellis needs to prove he can take it from him. Johnson hasnt been anywhere near the form he was in last season IMHO

I think Johnson's dip in form is because a) maybe Agar isn't filling him with confidence like Kear did, b) Johnson started almost every game last year, so maybe the fact that he hasn't this year has also had an effect on his confidence. As for Ellis I think it's a real shame that the only games he has played in have been games where "we have no chance" such as Wigan and Saints, same goes for Wildie. I hope we haven't seen the last of Ellis in a trin shirt.

I get the Aiton/Eliis thing i realy do, what i don't get is Aiton propping while a fully fit if a little off form second rower plays 20's.
I agree he's not hit last years form but he's a better prop than Aiton (who i really rate) any day of the week.
Thats why i'm not the coach maybe

| Honestly, i can't say whether it's the right move or not as i haven't seen enough of Ellis to make a judgement. But as mentioned, he's never really been given a chance and like a few others has only played games in which we never really stood a chance.
The baffling thing is Aiton seems to be used as a utility forward, generally at loose so surely that creates a spot at hooker? Ellis was Bronco's player of the year and was on the fringes of the England set up last year under a relatively inexperienced coach. So, why can't Agar get that form out of him?
