| when i saw the "spitting" at the time i thought some prissy pedant would make a thing of it, even though there was nothing in it. i had assumed that it would be a rovers fan though. clearly there was nothing in it, and we have five pages on it.
hock scored two magnificent tries, which were a large part of the difference between the teams. whilst i don't like the way he conducts himself, he can certainly play football.

Pathetic thread.
Used to see similar witch hunts against Newton on here.......until he signed for you.'"
Deary deary me is there no end to your attempts to justify your new team.
As it happens I can't be sure whether he spits at Dickens or not.
Problem is even if El Ray has it wrong this time it's irrelevant to the validity of what he says. He could have called Hock all these things a week, a month or a year ago and they would still have been correct. The bloke is a low life, he's not an enforcer he's a thug. An enforcer as you laughingly call him is a tough player who hits hard and hurts within the absolute limits of the rules of the game. Sure he can play but no one is above the game, if you want to know what happens if you do that look at football. It's not a witch hunt you silly man, it's drawing a line and I do draw the line at spitting.
Spitting, eye gouging and relentless foul and abusive language do not fall within that category - not these days. You are a total hypocrite even for a turncoat.

What a spineless comments that is - and how contrary to you attitude in the past under your old guise.
Yep two great tries, that makes everything OK - no really
If it were a one off I'd agree, but it's endless with this lad. When will you call it a day with hock, when he kicks someones head in on the pitch - he's a time bomb.

yet more personal attacks from the one that the mods never dare sanction. it's rather boring.
i've not denied that hock is a thug, or indeed to use your words a "time bomb". the game against featherstone was a run of the mill outing for him. he shone, he really shone with the ball. a try with a brilliant line, and a fine bit of skill to kick and collect, and yet all people want to focus on is negativity of which there was only a little to pick over.
hock should be a first pick for england on merit.

That's a bit rich coming from you but you're right on this occasion and I did edit my post - sadly not in time so I apologise on this occasion.

it's always amazed me that people like you seem intent on making personal attacks at fellow trinity fans. together we are stronger and all that. you've seemingly devoted years to chasing those that don't agree with you away from various websites whilst some how still putting a heart felt claim to the moral high ground.
back to the point, hock is a tough cookie, but also a cheap shot merchant. i didn't see anything in his display on friday that gave much cause for concern (i didn't spot the alleged abuse of the official at the time, not saying it didn't happen though). had wigan had four or five more that played with his intensity then they'd have got a big score, regardless of the weather and narrow pitch.

It definitely did happen - he was told to get behind the line for Fev's conversion and he backed up slowly, calling Mr Silverwood an effing jeffer.
He's not alone in that though - there's been a creep effect over recent years such that thesedays, players routinely abuse the officials without fear of any form of sanction. I blame Leeds.

| I would like an example of the gentlemen enforcers that seem to be running around SL.
As for you Vasty, just yawn, bring something new to the party will you?
Hock is a dirty so and so and is prone to the brain explosion no doubt, he disrupts and intimidates oppositions, although to be fair the Fev lads did not back down and could teach some SL teams how to deal with him.
The entire thread is based around a non event that did not happen.
Whilst I wholeheartedly agree gouging is wrong, the evils of spitting and swearing that you slate him for are laughable.
If we banned every player who spits of swears during a match we would struggle to get a game of 7's on with a combination of every team in the league.
Obviously no players at Wakefield spit or swear as they are clearly all angelic little cherubs.

It never fails to amaze me that you continue to attempt to score cheap points in an attempt to divert peoples attention from the FACT that you are a vendetta driven troll who's had more identities than Mike Yarwood and just about as convincing - but hey ther you go.
I especially love your attempt to appear to be the voice of reason and thus in your own words take the moral high ground - come off it Rhuby your fooling no one

I will if you bring your other eye with you to Wigan games.

If Silverwood heard it and ignored it he should be suspended a la Alibert, a review for Hock should see him banned too as it should be a straight red offence.
I know you make jest at Leeds, but when I picture Kevin Sinfield (you know the one, not quick enough or with hands good enough to be a back, and not big enough to be a forward) I don't get an image of him lifting a cup or the Superleague shield, it's of him screaming at the official with one hand on his hip with his gumshield in it whilst the other points/jesticulates at the official.

| For me, the boundaries need to be re-drawn; we used to boast that RL players showed total respect for the referee and proudly claimed it as a major point of difference between our game and football - that's now a totally false position, given that players are routinely arguing with and trying to influence the ref, are blatantly milking penalties by holding the tackler down and/or chucking themselves on the floor at the slightest touch in the ruck and, my pet hate, Head Coaches are going to the media after a game and criticising the ref/defending their starlets.
We're on a slippery slope and for me, this should be an absolute priority for the officials - call a meeting with all HC's, advise them that their will be a zero tolerance response to abuse of officials and blatant cheating, then police it with lethal force and unrelenting consistency from that day onwards, even if it is Sinfield or Tomkins; I guarantee that as soon as Coaches realise the gig is up, they'll stop coaching it into their players and within a few weeks, they'll clean up their collective acts.
Until that time, nigglers and cheats will continue to win the day and by extension, adversely influence young players and bring the game into disrepute.

spot on. sinbin for questioning the ref, with straight red for swearing at him. enforce it. if a player swears when they drop a ball, so be it, but if it's in anyway directed to an official, then time for the red card at all levels of the game too.
