| Quote: M62 J30 TRINITY "Truth is Wakefield Trinity have more potential than most SL clubs and after years of mismanagement we are beginning to realise this. A professional competitive Wakefield Trinity and people will turn up as we are beginning to see, imagine our attendances if we were a regular top 6 team playing in state of art stadia'"
I've said it for years, Wakefield Trinity is THE biggest name in RL both here and abroad, bar none.
The club are getting things right off the pitch after years of neglect, maybe the great name will start to emerge and reclaim its rightful place at the fore of our game.
We are on a journey, it wont happen overnight, but the blue touch paper has been lit and there's a whiff of smoke and sulphur in the air, we can all sense it and so can others, both supporters of other clubs and the media are starting to take note.
The negatives are now being replaced with positives.
Following some excellent work by the club last year, this years gate's are up, membership's are up and that means bye and large revenue will be up.
More money spent on match day tickets, replica kit and refreshments means more money to spend on playing squad and hopefully a continued development.
One feeds the other.
Some good news by the end of May on NM and the blue touch paper will start to fizz, and i 100% believe it will speed up the return of the great name, the one and only WAKEFIELD TRINITY!!!
Keep the faith and keep pushing THE greatest name in the game.

| It’s just worth standing back and looking at the bigger picture here, just to see how far we’ve come. In August 2006 we played Catalans at home and attracted 3324 on a Sunday afternoon. 6 years on we have well over double that attendance. I think it’s a great achievement to increase attendances so much on the back of no real on the pitch progress. I think it’s a great credit to the community and marketing teams, work that’s been put in over the years. I really think that work is paying off now, just imagine what boost a new stadium will do! Onwards and upwards!

| all this club has ever needed is good management and investment hopefully now we are getting both , in the 1960s this club was run to its full potential and was massive, it makes me laugh when supporters and the media regard us as a small club , this club is the true sleeping giant of rugby league.

| I don't live in Wakefield anymore and find it difficult to get to games but Sunday is making me want me to make the journey and get to more games.
I can't remember the ground looking as good, big crowd (with the odd French man), good snap, proper beer and what is looking like the makings of a great team
What a refreshing feeling walking away from the ground. Well done Mr Glover, the team behind the scenes, players and people of Wakefield who get behind the team week in week out

Why the need, what a unpleasant two faced person you are at times. Is this the same NGBC who used to refer to Ted as "Uncle Ted" in those not to distant days when we were in CCup Semi finals and play offs. Trinity were in massive decline long before Ted took over in 1992, if you were around in the 80's you'd know that. Ted failed ultimately but he was far from alone - still it doesn't matter how many times this is stated it seems to make no difference.
Yes AG has done all he promised and perhaps a bit more, no need to bring Ted into it to prove the point - just leave it at that.

I'm not sure it's as true anymore,
The generation of Ausies, New Zealanders, Frenchmen and even South Africans who marvelled at Wakefield Trinity's array of multi talented Champions is slowly disappearing and being replaced by others who know about Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and Sts.
In the 50s & especially the 60s Wakefield Trinity had 7 or 8 representatives in the Great Britain Lions touring squads that dominated Australia & NZ, players like Rocky, the Fox brothers, Brooke, Poynton etc..
The same players also handed touring sides some hefty defeats during the club games and County matches.
The drama of Don Fox's kick at Wembley and the amazing point scoring feats & record of brother Neil Fox always kept the name of Wakefield Trinity in the forefront of people's minds both here and abroad.
Then there's 'This Sporting Life', like it or not it's a famous sporting movie that's centred on Wakefield Rugby League. Bill Maynards TV series 'Trinity Tales' was'nt just a hit in England, it too went out on TV screens across the world further spreading the legend of Wakefield Trinity.
I certainly think there was a time when we were the most famous Rugby League club in the world and while I still think we're very recognisable we're probably not as well known as other more recently successful clubs are.

I've never actually seen Trinity Tales, it was a bit before my time. Does anyone know if it’s available to watch on line?

I agree although I don't doubt that Ted had Trinity at heart. The difference in my opinion is twofold, AG has more money to put in than TEd had and the ethos of the club is now far more professional.Good stuff!

The biggest difference of all is how we are perceived by the RFL hierarchy. We must have been a complete pain in the jacksy, refusing to be relegated, which would have made everything easy for them. If they see us now as a club who have moved on from those days, and see us as a club on the up, it can only be a good thing. People have said that there if was only one top flight club in the District, then that team would be a powerhouse because of the available young local talent, which is split between two clubs at best, and perhaps prone to raids from other nearby big clubs. Maybe that team could be us.
The comparison for us is not another Wigan or Leeds, but Warrington, who ten years ago this season (I think), were battling away with us at the bottom of the league and stuck in an ageing ground. The new ground built them the crowds, which eventually got them to where they are now.

Plus Glover isn't fleecing scandalous amounts of £££££££ out of the club to fund the family payroll.

I agree-even we put 50 points past them at Belle Vue.

We are actually seeing money the club earns be spent on the club . AG has done awesome. Vastman you are unbelievable remember when Ted wanted 1000 pound off the hardcore wakey fans? Hes a joke People were ripped off good and proper. Its fair enough to compare owners as its for all to see now why the club was nearly extinct during Teds helm.
