| What a try, brilliant stuff.
Say what you want about Smith and he made a couple of mistakes but man he can put a player in a slot and creates some great over laps.

| Wakefield have definately clicked in the final 20mins, players who I thought looked a bit lost have come good (Smith particularly). Like the look of Aiton. Fox will always score tries if given the chance. Think Amor has also gone very well. All in all a deserved win, well done.

| Our fans have sounded brilliant all game, well done everyone that went, gutted I've been stuck here, been shouting the house down.

| I thought you looked very decent tonight, your front row may not have a huge monster, but there was no drop in level at interchange which really wore Widnes down. You used Ali Lauatiti well and all your playmakers contributed.
Aiton dictated the game for me. The other thing that struck me was Fox & Kirmond, just seemed to link very well, sometimes some players just link well and those two seemed to, with Lauatiti on the other flank you had credible options both sides.
Only doubt for me was how good were the opposition, but a very good start for you. Looks like an enjoyable weekend in Wakefield and hopefully a strengthening of Super League if you keep that level up. Well played.

Me too. Was expecting a mate coming for the weekend, then got a call saying he'd had car trouble and wasn't going to make it. A few beers later and the downstairs flat must think they live below a lunatic!

| Our fitness looked awesome, especialiy with all that defence in the 1st half. Southern = tackling machine. Our halfbacks did more good things in this game than Smith and Lee did in a full season last year

| A good result for us and some promisings signs. I was worried at the start that we weren't big enough to compete, but the fitness levels were far superior to those of Widnes. I think we need to be realistic though and accept the top sides could thump us. Aiton looked a different class for me, and Southern got through an exceptional amount of work. Big Ali looked the part and Kirmond is twice the player he was two years ago.
On a different note, does anyone else find Chris Dean really irritating?

Ditto, I think I nearly put my foot through the floor with all my jumping around!

| Yes the work that Amor, Southern, Kirmond and Johnson put in was really impressive, looks like we've finally got some really good fitness behind us, been a massive problem the last few years. The amount of tackling we put in that first half, would have normally come back to hurt us but not today.
Apart from the fitness, the really encouraging thing was the speed we played at, from the ply of the ball to the players in motion, which will be essential this year for us to compete against some of the better sides. In attack it was almost a shock to see all the players in motion, hitting all different lines & gaps, I really enjoyed it.
I think it was expected that Widnes would come out all guns blazing but it seemed that once the adrenaline went there was nothing much left, which trinity capitalized on.

| I also have a big fear that Leeds are gonna whip Amor out of our hands after this season, his consistency is very noticable. Beats Griffin and Moore hands down.
