My missus isn't in Unison, if she were you'd see me on Donny road making my fortune every other week - think on young man.

TBF the trick is to sell them for more than a tenner I suppose which means someone is getting a bargain of sorts if it's less than £20. However the club isn't losing anything no matter how morally bankrupt it is to make money off subsidised tickets. quote]
Your club will be losing money, If people weren't able to buy your tickets then they would have to pay the club to enter.
Even if Unison have already paid a fee for the tickets in their sponsorship deal, if you weren't selling the tickets on the club would get the money twice.

Here we go, why do people struggle so much with this. THE CLUB HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID
The ticket is paid for, whoever uses it in the end or how it got to them is not relevant in financial terms - the club has got it's £20 from Unison as part of the deal - there is no "even if' Unison have paid for them as part of the sponsorship package.
The holder has by default paid for entry because the ticket is valid. What your suggesting is the club effectively has the right to sell the ticket twice which is frankly absurd. If I buy a Ford Focus and then sell it on Ford don't get a second bite at the cherry do they - where are WTRLFC different. The moment they sell that ticket to Unison they have no call over it at all, the deal is done. Unison do not stipulate any rules as to how the tickets are distributed other than you have to be a member to buy them in the first place.
If some one sells a ticket on for a personal profit so what, the club has got it's purchase price - find me any legislation anywhere that says it is entitled to more. Only in the hugely unlikely event that the seller gets more than face value could the club actually lose money, but that as in the theatre or any form of live entertainment it's a risk you take selling tickets in advance. There may be issues involving VAT or touting involving the reseller I don't know but the club has got it's money - end of.
Only RL fans could be so small minded that they feel somehow that they are missing out on a deal specifically designed to get non fans - I repeat - non fans to sample RL. Probably the same fans who moan that the game does not promote itself.
I'm sure the club and Unison are aware that some of the tickets don't exactly end up where they should - but as in all things the positives outweigh the negatives.

| Sponsors usually get an amount for free, i know JCT600 used to get 3500 free tickets for the Bulls per season, this may well be how the subsidy is arrived at if Unison have a similar deal and then they buy the same amount of tickets, hey presto half price to their members.
No story!!

Not really, he's trying (and clearly wasting his time) explaining how the whole shabang operates, to people who clearly have little understanding!!
I'll try:
Unison/A.N.Other sponsor tickets;
1) The club gets the ££££ income, other than what free tickets it gives away as part of the sponsorship deal.
2) If people sell them on for a profit, that's up to them, i am sure there are touting laws that are in existance to stop it.
3) Any profit then made is additional to the initial profit made by the club, and is for the seller and his/her conscience.
Free tickets, issued by the club;
Money down the drain from the club IMO if it isn't for a valid reason, too many issued to players, staff, helpers etc, too many issued to local businesses and then possibly sold on (Ive seen this one!!).
IMO anyone selling a ticket they've already paid for, i.e season tickets if on holiday, someone can't make the game etc thats fine and dandy, i've done it myself!!

| Am I missing something here, or are people seriously trying to convince others that if a man in the Con Club buys a £10 ticket from a Unison member that Unison have bought from the club for £10 instead of going up to the turn style and paying £22 (or whatever) then the club aren't losing any revenue?
(This is, of course, working on the assumption that Unison haven't actually paid full price for the ticket in the first place - which I would suspect to be the case)
Weather or not the club recoups this lost revenue from the sponsorship money received from Unison is another matter of course.

| yes i think you might be.
Compare it to season tickets, if you buy upfront and buy enough you get a reduced price.
Multiply that to sponsorship level, as part of your package you will get Z amount of free tickets (i previously posted JCT600s figure as main sponsor of 3500 freebies at the bulls!!).
If the sponsor then buys Z tickets they have an amount, Z x 2 (or half price tickets), alternatively in unisons case they could well be subsidising the ticket's out of their fee's to members instead/as well.
So the club has received £££ for tickets SOLD to the sponsor and £££ for the sponsorship, part of which will be a figure allocated against the "FREE" tickets given with the deal.
Now where does the club not see any money?
