There is a far better chance of someone winning due to all the combinations being sold. I think all the updates that only say 'no winner again this week' on the club site are negative and wont attract anyone to the scheme, that will happen 95% of the time too! Unlike you, I don't see that this should just be a charity thing.

That is only because so many people do the Lotto!
It's very altruistic of you to be happy that "someone" wins the Lotto each week, but beleive me, I don't care for them - I do it to win it for ME!!!
I am more than happy for the Lotto to keep rolloing over 'til the day I win!
"Charity thing" - what on Earth are you on about??? I don't do it to be charitable - I want to win! It's just that I am pragmatic about the likelihood of it happening and I am satisfied that my contribution helps the club a little.
I am much less happy about the huge profits and terrible charitable distributions of the National Lottery organisation. But I still do it 'cos I would like the dosh!

15295.gif I'm still laughing at Cas!!!:15295.gif |

| For me the club calling a Forum about this is fantastic news and gives people like me the opportunity to ask questions about the 1873 scheme. My only real question is about the mega draws - if the club says there are 2 a year then just tell the fans when they are. Its just a transparency thing for me and some of the people I asked to join the scheme who were sceptical with the recent history of the club (Not AG & JE's fault). Depending on the numbers in the scheme the chances of winning are quite decent for a mega draw compared to the weekly draw as the mega draw was sold with a "guaranteed" winner at the Cedar Court event. I want this scheme to work - it's not particularly about the £2 a week- it's about - Am I getting what I was told I would for £2 per week. Rant over!!

| Whatever people's opinion with regard to the 1873 membership and draw, the major and most important element is that the club has listened, is to have a Q & A forum to better inform it's customers and is willing to take on board ideas. That for me, shows how far this club has come in a sort space of time.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.
Sharing First World problems so you can get it right first time.

last year I was one number away from a syndicate win in the National Lottery that would of been kind enough for me to retire modestly.
the club lottery is there for fun and to support what I believe in

How much did/do people win with Squadbuilder? Nothing. It's a charity donation, to all intents and purposes. The feelgood factor comes when you see one of our juniors break into the first team and do well, and know that you've contributed towards that happening.
Club 1873 is a great scheme for the ordinary fan, with the dangled carrot of a nice little payout if you get lucky. The worst case scenario is you've helped the club retain and develop its junior talent.
Can someone please explain to me why both need to co-exist.

Games/PDT_062.gif You can take the man out of Wakefield but you can't take Wakefield out of the man.:Games/PDT_062.gif |

| Quote: 18th Man "! Secondly I think they are missing an obvious trick with the prizes, everyone who takes part obviously has the club at heart so why not forget about using money as a reward, instead offer Trinity related prizes such as hospitality for two at a home game, signed shirt, train with the team, meal with the team at Nandos, travel to the next away games with the players, season ticket for the next season etc. Personally, I would be more inclined to take part if this was on offer than just paying week in week out for a 95% chance of no one having the winning numbers. These prizes would probably cost the club less and mean more to the fans too!
That's great if you live in Wakefield, remember some fans don't. I won't be doing a 400 mile round trip for a meal at Nando's

I do the 1873 because I want to help the club and have the odd chance of maybe winning something.
I don't do it [ibecause[/i of the prize. If it was about the winnings I would just keep my money in the first place.
And I certainly don't do it because I want to see someone else win! If anyone wins, I want it to be me.
