I haven't really seen that much of him over the last couple of seasons, but from what I have seen, the number of penalties he gave away was probably in part down to over-motivation and the responsibility of guiding a young and inexperienced team round the park. There are worse things to be guilty of, I suppose.
We've had 2 good seasons out of him - better than a lot of Bradford fans thought we'd get when he left, due to the amount of time he spent out injured. Perhaps the club think they'd be chancing their arm going for a third? Perhaps Agar has his own plans and his own man for the captain's position? Perhaps it is just a case of looking for better value for money over the long term?
That said, if the deal were right for both parties, I'd stick with him too.

| Morro is our captain for gods sake he aint some bit part player like Hendo. Morro with decent players around him can still cut it at the highest level. Exciles as a example probably unlucky not to get man of the match. We should be trying to keep him and Smurph. Criticise Cas all you will but they have kept Rangi would we have done??? Or let him go to someone like Huddersfield??

I don't think its just the number of penalties thats the problem, its the nature of them. For our club captain to be giving them away for discent etc doesnt bode well for the rest of the team. Added to this he seems to have a short fuse and is easy to rattle (relatively compared to his experience) see Donny away in the cup for a prime example, coupled with his age and "fitness problems" I think the money is most probably better spent on somebody else - although I wouldn't be too miffed if he did stay as it would probably be on next to nothing money wise, but refer him to be replaced by a brit of some description though.

[iWas[/i - was our captain.
What is with the need that some people have for time to stand still? He's been a cracking captain, done a good shift and now, his contract has expired - the club are not obliged to keep him on if he doesn't fit with their plans going forward.
Releasing an ooc player is not a form of emotional abuse - it's business.

I'm sure he'll enjoy watching it from the stands. He ain't going to playing much superleague next year, he really ain't that good. Glad he's gone.

| Some people on here have short memories, Morrison is head and shoulders our best tackler. As for him giving away penalties maybe he was trying a little too hard to compensate for the mediocre players he had around him. Give the kid another year, imagine him in the second row with Bluey southern, now that would be a formidable combo.

In a number of matches morro was also mediocre himself in second half of season. I'm more than happy to see bluey, Johnson, Moriano, lauititi take the second row slots, with Spiers and Massellot to fight for their chances.
Happy with Washbrook and trout to fight for the loose too.
Unfortunately it is not as clear cut as signing him. He will command one of the larger wages and is in a position we have the most depth in.
I will say it again. We are in need of some quality at halfs and some strength at prop. Morro offers neither to improve the weak points in our squad.
I feel it's time to move on, he has done his job well and can be proud.

With three spots left I don't think the club are likely to entice better players than Morrison IMO. Worth another year.

| Agree with Trojan, need to concentrate on halfs, props and even backs, we cannot just rely on morton and penny as back up wingers!
