Well of course it isn't true, it's made up gossip/speculation as far as I can tell. So where are Savilles in this? Why would Richard Wright care? In the last franchise as far as I can remember the clubs knew on the day about an hour before it was announced publicly, why has that changed?

Thats my recollection too. I distinctly remember Cas not getting their email and subsequently brinking it at the thought they'd lost out. Turned out it was just an oversight.

i for one would think that this is unlikely. 1) we're better than that (broadly speaking) as a group of people and would self-police, and 2) they won't bring any fans.

Now as I've been in this situation many times myself I will not doubt what you are reporting - i.e. that someone at the club has told you that - but do you honestly believe that they would, or could even, say any different?
The truth is that none of us know, but most of us can work it out!

| Co the decision has been made, the boards that Mr Lewis will stand infront of the give the verdict are already done, they dont do them at the last minute as theres lots of planning before hand,
Quins , Wales, should go down , its unreal, leave the clubs with history in the league,

| No clubs have been told who's in or out. It has been reiterated though that one club is going down and superleague will stay at 14 teams.

Be great if we could kid ourselves that were true and wallow in self pity and indignation - but it isn't. Savilles will do their job and SL will abide by it. The issue is not with the decision it's how the criteria is structured, when it's decided and implimented. Sure people talk and most people have a very good idea what will happen - what's wrong is that there is no protection from the RFL for the assumed victim club from basically being asset stripped mid season and that can not be right or in the spirit of the game - there lays the corruption.
What organisation in it's right mind make s a decision like this mid way through a season, it's not rocket science is it.

It could have been worse. There was talk at one point of delaying the announcement a few weeks to see how the Crusaders/Wrexham fc situation panned out. Think this has been rejected now.

| I've followed this sport all my life, I've watched Keith Smith dummy and spin to score a try in the CC at Fulham, I watched us at Wembley against Widnes, I watched all three of my older brothers play for the juniors and then the senior teams, I've been a GB schoolboy international then played for Trinity' all conquering Colts team, played in the Red White & Blue alongside Wally Lewis, Ray Price, Mark Graham & Steve Ella, been part of the back room staff at Wakefield, worked for the RFL on World Cup tournaments, watched my brothers win 3 Grand Finals as Coaches, watched them coach internationally and seen them win coach of the year and SL coach of the year, I've helped start the Supporters Trust, volunteered for the RNIB commentary team, now as a fully qualified RL coach and as a PE teacher who wanted to steer kids into the sport of Rugby League..........
In 18 days, I will sever ties with the game and walk away with little more than a brief backwards glance at the wreckage left behind by the franchise farce.
This sport doesn't deserve my attention anymore!

Felt like this for 18 month. Got tickets for sunday but I'm not up for it at all. I know Bigal or others will rightly say give your head a shake and support the lads and he's right of course. I'll not walk away all together but I'd be a liar if I said it was out of anything other than duty, the fun, joy and most critical hope has all but been removed.
See you at BV next year

aye - cos walking away will really help those juniors, that community, Trinity RLFC and the game as a whole won't it??
Get real. Life down here in the sludge might not be perfect owd cock, but know what?? I actually really enjoy the craic. I've had some right laughs at Barrow, Haven, Leigh, Chorley, Gateshead, South Wales etc. The lads n lassess I go with are a right hoot. There is life beyond SL and our juniors (we run 5 teams at Fev) need all of our efforts if the game is to stand a hope of a future.
Just cos you've got the lip out because you don't like the way the games going??? Dear me owd cock - have a word with yourself. We've all felt like that in the past - and trust me - at Fev we've had it a lot longer than you lot have!!!
Wakey will need all of your support if you ever have a hope of getting into SL again!
But hey ho - who am I to pass judgement. Walk away owd cock if you are so desired. But just have a look at exactly what that will to - and to whom/what before you do!!
I understand your anger - but don't get your intentions one bit.

I think you misunderstand my motivation for walking, it's not about the decision it's about the process and the damage it's done/is doing to clubs and the integrity of the competition as well as the reputation of the sport itself.
The Championship holds no fears for me, I actually enjoy the football played in that division more than that of SL and visiting Whithaven, Featherstone and Leigh would be a pleasure.
It's not even about Wakefield losing their franchise, believe me or not it's up to you but if Castleford go before Crusaders I'll feel exactly the same
