The more i think the possibility of Semi resigning, the more uninspired i become. Yes he might be an improvement on what we have, but if signing him means less games for the likes of Griffin, Johnson, Morton etc then it's definitely the wrong move. Short term gain, long term loss springs to mind! We've seen how well these young english lads can do, let them develop regardless of whether we win or lose

| I'm far from Pennys biggest fan but releasing a young english winger and replacing him with a 33 year old injury prone overseas one, who was never a world beater at his best, sends out the wrong message to me. With George, Griffin, Morton, Johnson, Penny & even Vievers who have all played on the wing for us this year and Murphy and Tony who can cover as well I don't see why we need him.

The addition of the big experienced Tadulala will only add to a team that is still overwhelmingly young and British. We can more than justify our use of overseas players.
Vievers is not ready, George has picked up a knock, whilst both Morton and Johnson are small IMO and thus I'd only want one of them on at a time. Semi may not of been a world beater but he was good enough for us for 5 years, NRL, Bradford Bulls and top flight RU - have any of those you mentioned got a CV to match?
It's great to see so many youngsters getting a go and taking their chances, but let's have a bit of balance I say. Our two best players IMO are Morrison and Rinaldi, both over 30 and both foreign which kind of scuppers your argument.

Sure is, i'm sure every lad has mentioned a one point he'd like to play for X, Y & Z. The reality is most never do and money plays a massive part in such deals. Ellis would still be in the NRL for what another 2 or 3 years yet. Realistically anything could happen by then!
An English team in the NRL? I'm got more chance of predicting a Wakefield win this season!

He doesn't it's another flippant comment which the media proclaim as fact! If we keep saying Wakefield Trinity will dominant World Rugby and be a super force by 2012 i'm sure if we employ the Cas media man everyone will believe it in two weeks time!

Don't get me wrong I liked Semi first time round and would love him to make a success of it. But I just don't think he is required. As for Morrison & Rinaldi I take your point but at least they have been playing RL regularly, are fit and are pivitol players within out team, Glenn as captain and Rinaldi as hooker which these days is possibly the most important postion on the pitch. If we were signing an experienced halfback or loose forward then fair enough, but wing is never going to be a pivitol position.
George has a bang on the hip and is expected to be back for the cas game. Him and Griffin are probably our first choice wingers and both are far from small. Defensively both are comparable with Semi and both I would have thought would beat him in a foot race. Semi has spent most of the last two years sat on his backside due to poor form and a succession of injuries so his fitness has to be a major issue. And age is not on his side. By the time he is up to speed the season will almost be gone.
He will have my support and I wish him well and genuinely hope he is a success but I have my doubts. I hope he proves me wrong though.

| According to Offiah's twitter Kevin Penny is in talks to join Widnes 'for a spell' so would fit in with you signing a winger!

I understand what your saying. Yes, he has experience, and of course we can justify the fact he's an oversea's player. The question i ask, is for 10 games, why spend money on a player who in reality has no future with the club. The young lads will see their opportunities reduced and will probably lead to one or two leaving the club through pure frustration.

I'm not doubting what Semi has done in the past, i'm questioning what he will give us in the future as a 33 yeard old. Morton, Johnson, Vievers, George etc all have weak area's, some more so than others. But i do feel, in a season where we'll struggle to make the play-offs there is a chance to let them develop with the odd game here or there for a better future.

Agreed, both have been superb, that isn't in question. But in Rinaldi's case he was brought here due to the unfortunate circumstances regarding TN & DB departure and Morro was on a 2 year deal i think? Not just for 10 games when in reality we have young lads who are upto speed in that position and deserve their shot.

I see George as a centre to be honest, wouldn't take much to run out of them. Dean and Smurph could both be injured or need to play elsewhere. Maybe that's the logic, just guessing.
Also as I've said, it's Semi's size and toughness that I always liked rather than his flair or lack of. A very brutal and punishing player, one nobody likes to tackle to often. Maybe that's what JK wants, I don't think we have that at the moment.
