Did not know they did parmos down there i always thought of it as a NE delicacy. Never had it with Garlic sauce though only Tomato or Bechamel.

I LOVE WAKEFIELD TRINITY WILDCATS.....
AND FOR ME THERE IS NO BETTER TEAM IN THE SUPER LEAGUE TO FOLLOW!!!!!: |
|
| Quote: bren2k "There were several hundred of us and we gave the lads really good support - I particularly like the way we hijacked their mascots drumming to accompany the 'Wakefield!' chant.
On a personal note, I was thrilled to hear someone sitting next me shout "Get in Le Barbu!" Let that be my legacy.
On a less happy note, I missed BJ's try altogether, when an inter-fan fracas broke out right next to me; a middle aged chap took offence to something that was said behind him and offered out an entire row of people - game, but ill-advised. A man in a nice purple shirt with a James May style hairdo was able to placate everyone however, and harmony was restored.'"
did he have a folded up flag???
they wouldnt let me put it up for " safety reasons" ...... gutted

I can see what you are saying but i am enjoying this season more where we are putting the effort in but just don't have the quality than last season where we had more quality but lacked effort.

| I'm enjoying watching them give it their all no doubt about it. I'd like JK to let them off the leash a little though and let them play with a little more freedom, see how good they can be.

| Pretty much an action replay of last week against Leeds for me, plenty of effort and endevour but not enough skill to capitalise and score points. The lads did't give up though and really made a good go of it, I have see plenty of far, far superior Wakefield teams than this get their s handed to them on a plate at the McAlpine and throw in the towel - somethiign that this group of players is yet to do and they deserve plenty of praise for this alone.
One thing does still concern me, we kicked a bomb up early to the right wing and came up with a try after the winger made a hash of it - anybody notice us trying this move for a 2nd time? Decent sides (in fact most sides) persivered when a weakness is exposed and keep working on it - something we dont seem to have the ability to do....

| Agree with most of what has been said lots of effort and graft just lacking in quality and creativity. The only thing for me is if you do insist on taking the 2 at least make sure you do actually take 2. A bit like missing touch from the penalty last week no reason why we shouldn't be doing the basics.

I know what you mean. However I think what JK or any coach does is build up a basic team pattern first. Our team is very new to each other so I imagine the coach wants to keep it tight and build up defensive and attacking patterns first. This should allow younger players the chance to come up to speed.
It's only a theory but I don't think you can play adventurous Rugby without good basic understanding amongst the squad. It's great chucking it about but if it all goes wrong you need to be able to revert back to a safe style of play.

| There definately needs to be some structure obviously, I just feel we are so one dimensional we don't ask enough questions of the opposition. We are too easy to defend against. After this coming sunday we will be a third of the way through the season and with the weather (hopefully) warming up it may be time to start letting them express themselves a little more, without going overboard. They may not be good enough, but we won't know unless they try it once in a while!

That's the conundrum we are in. Do we play it safe and build long term in the hope that we are in SL next season - or - go out with a bang and say hell to it. I like others have not totally given up of SL survival but equally see the need to prepare for NL1. With that uncertainty it's really hard for all concerned to know what to do. Franchising has some positives but also has some big negatives.

Nothing the players do will help the club gain a new license. Besides the players are able to move on if the club loses out. The supporters can not.

I'd have gone with you on this post - except that I've just read your posts on the Shudds forum and in tone and content they are derogatory and condescending. In which case may I suggest Quel surprise got it spot on this time.
