Please tell me why Cas are in the brown stuff?.
Look, no matter how many times we have a go at each other, by stating we have this, you don't and my dad's bigger that yours etc, the simple fact of the matter is that the decision is completely out of our hands and any theories are simply that end of. People claim to have the 'inside track', but they don't. So let's get back to talking about what happens on the field and if people have forgotten we have a game on Good Friday which will be another great encounter and a packed house, between two very very proud clubs................'"
All clubs are in the brown stuff, just look at the economy.
It's not personal but at what point could any sane person believe that the WR site is worth 50 million or that any Supermarket would want it at a 10th of that price. It's madness. God knows who owns BV but it's valued at a few million quid and it's a far better site than WR.
Cas is a small place and no offence but is hardly a prime area. It could possibly support another Supermarket but not at that price or even close.
I work for Morrisons and I can tell you know for them to bother with that site they would expect it at a knock down rate and some serious sweeteners to take it on. Supermarkets are absolutely without mercy, they are utterly predatory and simply will not pay the going rate for anything. There is no pressing reason why any of them would push the boat out for a store in Castleford - sorry.
Mr Wright is throwing the dice one more time to stall, you will be disappointed.

Possibly! As people have alluded to this is what the RFL has created.
Fans wanting (or maybe not wanting but relying?) on other clubs to fail just for their club to succeed.
Which is wrong, very wrong!

Cas havent claimed that we will be selling the ground for £50m, cas havent said anything about what they will be getting for the ground other than that it will cover the costs of getting the stadium built in one go, hence the reason why ben bailey homes have been paid off.
With regards to the size of castleford, as someone said on the cas board a town of 40k people has one big supermarket while selby (18k population) has 3, and with the size of the population of cas growing over the next decade with lots of new housing going up an already obvious demand is only going to increase.
St helens and warrington are hardly the richest of areas but entering into an agreement with a supermarket got stadiums built/building for them, so there is no reason why it shouldnt do the same for castleford.
I'm not going to make an predictions on how this will all pan out like yourself, as (like yourself) i have no idea whats going on behind closed doors, but the opinions of yourself and a few others on this thread havent made me think its any less likely that it will succeed, they have only served to remind me of how bitter and desperate a small minority of wakefield fans are for castleford to fail.

| "The club admitted that the site would be a 'ground share with a local sporting club' and that, compared to Newmarket, it was 'a very similar distance' from their home at BV."
So seeing that BV to NM (according to Google Maps) is 5.2miles, and that means that a catchment area from BV would include Featherstone, Ossett, Durkar, Old Power Station, etc... there are options to get something sorted with the right focussed team doing it.
This plan they partly talk about mentions a ground share with another sporting club - not necessarily a rugby league club though like some people have assumed. Local soccer clubs are reviewing their ground facilities what with their football league requirements, I see that Wakefield FC are looking for a ground too.
I am more than happy for them to go through the process of looking into the options privately and not disclosing details that may damage the franchise process. We should just be pleased that they are serious about getting us a good future, and that regardless of what is going on at other SL clubs, we are now a progressive club that is looking for improvements, and they are working to get a better future for us.

If we are planning to be playing there next year then it would have to be an existing stadium but that doesn't mean that the existing stadium wont be improved.

It's got to be built in the next 11 months, so a new build is out of the equation, it can only be a temporary redevelopment of an existing ground. College Grove is out of the question. As is Ossett Town and Albion. The plans Featherstone have involve shifting the stadium footprint (I think) so that kind of limits the option. More and more I think it points to Dewsbury. Open ends, relatively new and within 6 miles of. BV.

It would certainly be handy for me but i'm not sure it would satisfy the powers that be. Never know though.
Is there still a drainage problem with the pitch at Dewsbury though that could be made worse by filling the ends of the ground in, thus restricting the airflow?

| In todays Express it saying Newmarket is still option A but they are looking at another option (a Newmarket style build) with another sports if Newmarket fails. A new stadium with Ossett Town on Queens Drive was back doing the rounds the other week with them selling Stade France (named after our current shirt sponsers) to tesco, so that fits the bill. As for next season staying at Belle Vue with a tempory stand Bloomfield Road style

| I think the plan is Dewsbury it makes sense the stands could be upgraded to SRL using the land loan money from WMDC parking is actually on the Dewsbury Waky boundary and it's easy to get to. Oakwell would have been too costly per match
regarding Cas and the supermarket deal I believe there could be some restrictions on building a supermarket on WR and of course the other supermarkets in the area would pick up on that and object
Whichever way ther is a long way to go for both our teams

| Hecky thump how much more "in the know" do the fans want to be?
I propose that the Wildcats TV format be expanded to a daily live streaming programme based on the BBC Breakfast format called Belle Vue Breakfast. Every morning James Elston assumes the John Turnbull role and Davide gets his thighs out and does the Sian Williams. From 07 was a lad [his] hands would get so numb with the winter cold [he] couldn't undo [his] zipper". The camera zooms in on his face to catch his laughter, which struggles to mask the feeling of loss as he holds in the tears.
Other features would be the "Breaking News" sign that crashes into the front of screen to announce that the pitch sprinklers have been switched on. And, text votes on issues such as should the Wildcat Dolls wear red, blue or white uniforms?

The time it took you to think that up and type it could have been better spent, since the stance you're parodying doesn't actually exist; I don't see anyone advocating 24 hour, fly-on-the-wall, rolling news style output - just a clear statement about the ground issue. We may not get that any time soon due to confidentiality or sensitivity of information, but that doesn't make wanting it wrong, does it?
You've also ruined any future enjoyment I could reasonably have expected to get from Sian Williams' thighs, which is just mean.

Its friday and the sun's out, just having a bit of fun.
I understand what you're saying, but the club is doing a lot, lot better than it did. There's only so much they can and should say, so I'm happy to be kept in the dark until the big grandiose statement of intent arrives rather than getting little bits and bats every now and then.
Anyway, Friday, let's get that Rebecca Black tune on and think about whether to sit in the front or back of a car. I chose to drive from the back seat; more exciting that way.
