I don't think our away support warrants that many at the moment does it?

| Quote: vastman "I'll be honest here you may be right on most points. That said I would say that if JK has one strength it's motivating young and experienced sides who have been written off. Where JK has failed in recent years is that he has had to many players so called good players to choose from, some of whom had strong ideas of their own. I think JK is at his best building teams from spare parts and making them believe. What he has failed to do as yet is take those teams to the next level and keep them there, I'm not sure he has that in him.
With that in mind I can't think of a better coach for us at this moment. We are a spare parts paper thin team with no hope and getting them moving is right up Johns street. I think the last thing we need right now is a coach with new ideas, we need tried and trusted and if JK reverts to the JK style of a few years back we will be OK I think even Mopsey might admit that.'"
Agreed. My only reservation would be that JKs job is going to be bigger and harder, at least in the short-term, and he is getting no younger. Has he got the energy to put in the hours that will be needed to shape a vastly changed side especially if back-up staff are thin on the ground? As any Cas fan now knows, underestimate him at your peril.

Last season I agree that was unacceptable, we had the players to do much better. This season it will do me just fine if it gets results which it will if the effort is there.

Sorry Vastman but I have to take issue with this, please name me young players that have flourished under Kear. To my recollection what tends to happen is they look good when they first come in and then seem to go backwards under his coaching. Dale Ferguson is one example, then theres Dale Morton whose confidence looked shot to pieces at the back end of the stint of games he played.

Morton never looked as confident after the home game against Huddersfield last year when to be fair he had a bit of a nightmare but wasn't helped by the fact he had Gleeson inside him. I partially blame Sky for this as Eddie and Stevo had a right dig at him which was totally uncalled for considering he is only a young lad trying to make his way in the game.

You can always find example either way. I'm not suggesting he is a magician with the youngsters who by definition are notoriously difficult to predict. It also depends on what you consider a good player.
I think Ferguson has done well under Kear, his dip in form last season was self inflicted. Kear gave Morton a chance and he struggled, that's not Kears fault, he certainly backed the lad.
I believe Blaymire to have been a great success, others don't. Ryan Atkins flourished as have a few others but it's opinion I suppose.
Also you have to accept that maybe our youngsters were never that good and went as far as they could. Nothing in RL splits fans opinions more than the benefits of young home grown players a chance, it's a very emotive subject. My point wasn't aimed at these youngsters it was aimed at his ability to take unfancied teams forward and these usually have an element of youngsters.

| Not sure on the stats, but i bet Johns win...loss ratio for trin is one of the best for a long time when it comes to coaches. That is what matters! Who cares what it looks like. Just win.
