| Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if teams had already been told, would a sponsor really agree a big deal with a team (Cas new one the biggest in club history, one of the biggest in SL) and would teams go about signing a fair few players when they aren't certain about what league the team will be in in just over a years time, because on the other hand, would the clubs accept deals with get out clauses for the players/sponsors.

It won't, because there are already more than enough of them, and any more stuff added to it will simply get deleted from this thread.

Whilst you may be able to claim its the biggest in Cas history, not sure how you know what everyone elses sponsorship deals are worth to be able to claim it is one of the biggest in SL

A sponsor will agree a deal with any team on the basis of the package they're sold. It isn't the responsibility of the RFL to inform potential sponsors of whether or not the team they're sponsoring will be playing in the top flight for the next few seasons or not.

Because it's Gaslight? He probably signed the deal off.
And regards his post, I disagree. A club tries to improve itself by increasing revenues, sponsorships and squads as it is all information they can include when it comes to licensing time. A company invests in a club to raise its own profile, don't think it cares what division they are in come a year's time (unless they sponsor for more than one year).

as i said in an earlier thread if rumours are to be believed this deal is the mother of all deals in british RL, but as usual this was just made fun of by some of your fans. but also this is still just rumours and we will have to wait untill september to see if the rumours are true, but if they are i think it will fill one hell of a hole in our funding gap

No but a company would do research and know Cas are on the verge, would they want to sponsor a club in such a position without getting a reassurance from the club about the position they will be in in just over a years time, because at the same time why would Cas want to sign a big deal with a company, and put in a clause saying they can walk away if the team get kicked out - that would be murder for Cas because in an event they do get kicked out, they would have to struggle to find a new (far lower paying) sponsor, which might not be forthcoming.
As for the deal being one of the biggest in Super League, it's basic logic that dictates it, I remember reading Diggerland was the 3rd biggest in the league 2 years ago - since then Quins, Leeds, Warrington & KR got new sponsors, lets say 3 of them overtook Diggerland, that would move them down to 6th - a new sponsor would mean Cas would have the 5th highest paying sponsor at the very least just by using (basic) logic.

IF it is really that big, and with what Poskitt was saying, it sounds like it, he has done a fantastic job there.

Don't talk rubbish. In that article - I've just checked - it never mentioned a position, it just said a record-breaking one for Cas.
You forgot to mention Wigan, Saints and Hull. It was nowhere near the third biggest in Super League.

That's what I sort of said with the (unless they sponsor for more than year) bit.
And from what I know, no it isn't Eddie Stobart. Think that was just a wishful rumour going around.

Plus why does it automatically mean it would move Cas up above at least one of the 5 that Gaslight believes is above them currently - you would have to know what those 5's deals were to make that claim - thats common sense as opposed to Gaslights logic!

Hey! I never said it was good logic, I said it was BASIC logic.
If everything were to be done in a literal way Cas would move up that imaginary table for sponsor money, for all we know this new sponsor might be worth 1p more or 1 million more, who knows.
