To be fair a compound fracture hardly makes a player injury prone does it??

Its clearly a serious injury and one I would imagine is likely to make him more prone to leg injuries in the future.

No but prior to it he managed to play in only 31 Super League Matches out of 55 Suggests he is.
In fact in his 3 seasons at Hull KR he will of missed 53 out of a possible 84 games come the end of this season.

That could be said of any injury, that a person is more prone to injuring that part of their body again. If that was the case then it is fair to say that many players would have had to retire well before their careers would naturally end. Just look at JD he suffered a neck injury came back just as strong and to my knowledge has had no further injuries like that and I think it is fair to say that a neck injury can lead to far more problems in life than a leg in jury. Nobody ever became paralysed from breaking a leg.
So why not take a punt on Walker, given the compound fracture he suffered, he would be less likely to command the same kind of money as before the incident.

You can find players all over the rugby league who may have played only a percentage of games compared to what the could have played. Sean Long missed almost a full season when he was taken off the ball (by Costin) playing for Saints. Paul Deacon was out for sometime after the headshot he received playing against New Zealand. Does that make those two examples injury prone, doubtful.
You can throw as many stats in as you like, but as somebody once said (I think it was Stuart Raper) stats are like mini skirts, they let you see some things but hide the good stuff.
How many of those 53 games have been missed due to the compound fracture? and if not for the that freakish accident how would possibly have been missed?

| I think the only realistic way forward for Wakefield is to look to the loan markets for 2011.
There are many many quality players ready for SL at some clubs who are not getting a chance, and teams are only too eager to loan them out under the right circumstances.
A couple of new faces and a good foray into the loan market could really freshen up Trinity in the short term, something that I feel is desperately needed while the future long term is being sorted out.

Chev has missed 25 games so far due to the leg injury and the subsequent infections. We have at least 4 more games which he will miss taking the total to 29 missed since the injury.
As I said he missed 24 of the 55 super league games prior to this with a mixture of Shoulder, Wrist, and shin complaints.

| I think that is an excellent point and something the club should be looking at.
Clubs like Wigan and Leeds have big squads and good academy players so why not take there youngsters on loan and give them a chance.

There are some decent Cas fans though. Welcome aboard!
