It'd be a novelty thing - they love their football in the People's Republic - and once it goes, like a travelling circus, they'd soon forget.'"
Not to long ago cas went out selling tickets in barsley and sold 50 iirc
Obviously not a huge number but theres certainly some who like rl.

when oakwell is mentioned, some cas supporters seem to get paraniod about it as if they know that if we dont join them at GH, they are as dead in the water as we seem to be
this oakwell option, or one similar, has to be our plan B, and we neeed a plan B, if only for a negotiating tool, if we are being forced towards GH'"
if thats a dig at me then im not paranoid when you mention Oakwell, im paranoid about what the rfl have in store for us both

Again, that was not the premise of the thread - a thread which is pointless enough to make you post!
You may have noticed that 99% of threads on public forums are incredibly pointless and innane. This will be the case while ever the public is involved!
The answer is still Oakwell.

To be honest Al I dont know, the only viable one i can see at present to retain WTRLFC is a drop to NL1 for a while and a proper rebuild, from the bottom up, but im on a downer with it all anyway.
Glasshoughton = merger or bankrupt
Newmarket = not happening
Oakwell = bankrupt or lose every single game for however long we are there

If the club find themselves out of existence that it would be a good starter home for a new club, although i'm not sure how much Wakefield FC would relish hosting Trinity given the apparent animosity that seemed to exist between the two clubs when they shared Belle Vue.

only point i would agree with you on

Newmarket [/i
nothings ever over till the fat lady (or the cardboard container) sings
[iOakwell [/i
why should we go bankrupt there anymore than glasshoughton. we will have to pay rent to one landlord or another
and why should we lose every match there. we played there once when we hadnt won a match for yonks against a team top of the league , unbeaten in 8 matches and won. thank you linton stott

Too small I think - according to a quick web search it has a 3,000 capacity and 1,250 seats. I find that hard to believe, plus it would need a lot of work in terms of extra turnstiles, security, just general work on the ground to host anything other than Northern Prem football or 1st Division union as was.

You may have to pay rent but then possibly may Cas. If the council are behind it, it may be that each has a stake in the stadium company and it's a 50:50 split.
Until the full facts come out it's all hypothetical: people say "it's not financially feasible" but I think it can be with the right marketing strategy and if the Wakefield fans get behind the move and embrace it rather than fight it. In fact, the club could be stronger than ever before at GH.
Call me biased, say I'm only saying that because I'm a Cas fan but that is actually my non-Cas view.
