I might be wrong but aren’t Newtown Jets a part time club. I know Stosic used to play for them prior to signing for Gold Coast.

They are the Roosters reserve grade team I think

what do you class as being at the top?
surely your not saying that swapping this lower league player,who has been at the top in your opinion? for tronc,who really has gone back home at a top 1st grade side, is a good move for your club?
tronc was outstanding for you imo,hence the reason that the broncos nicked him and took him home mid contract
i know he cried the "family couldn't settle line",but i bet they could have settled if no other club was poaching him,and that the money at wakey was his bread and butter!
i hope that kear has unearthed another gem,but i suspect that wakey are merely cutting costs this season

Yeah, we`ve got a terrible record of signing poor players who couldn`t get regular 1st Grade games down under - JD, BJ, Sammy, Solomona, Halfpenny etc. Amazing that we`re still in SL with such incompetence

lets not forget there have also been some fairly poor signings from the NRL.

My opinion of this guy is short term he will be a real eye catching crowd pleaser, longer term i suspect his form may become patchy once he settles in.

Usually the big name ones with us.

The ones who come to our club with a point to prove, and the desire to do it, are the ones who succeed at BV.

to be honest i think that is the same at most clubs which is why they are now doing a lot more homework on players attitudes.

From what i have been told he can be a bit of a firey character with a robust approach to the game but is prone to the odd lazy spell.

Time will tell, but I have a feeling that the type of player we have been looking for is the Puletua / Manu type of hole-punching forward - which could suit a 'spelled' player - clearly though we have to find a 'project' who has the raw material as we cannot afford the finished article.

The down-side to this is if the speccies think they will get a top player straight away - they will almost certainly be disappointed, although I don't think the same level of expectation surrounds Charlie that did for Cooke!

I have done my research wisely. Leano is huge runs hard but apparently he has the heart size of a pea. But we all know what Mr Kear can do with players like this so maybe there is a chance. IF he can't turn him around we have signed another 3rd rate player from down under im affraid.

If we can train the fiery character and robust approach bit out of him he should fit well in our right hand defence.

No what I'm suggesting is that the guys played NRL for two of the better sides in that competition and has since seen his career flail. He now has the chance to start again in another of the worlds best competitions, lets hope he's got the drive and the character to make the most of it.

i reckon that he will be another "Frank Winterstein" type of player
if you think that that is the type of player you personally fancy as a replacement for the excellent tronc at your club then ok
i personally think that he is merely being added to your squad as a cost cutting measure
i do hope that i am wrong here and that both yourself and your club are proved to be right in signing him,and that he earns a 3 year deal on the back of his excellent form
i'll take a punt at that he won't be at wakey next season!
