but the truth is...that while we won the CC in the league our form was erratic and we'd often produce some shocking displays.
don't get me wrong that day in 2005 is the best day I've had as a Hull fan, but to suggest it was that level of performance every week in the league just isn't true.

And after our (and Sheffield's) moment in the spotlight, what did he achieve then?
Kear is a technical coach FULL STOP.
He and Wakey should accept that fact. Sheffield did and so did Hull FC.
I once told Shaun McCrae that JK was his best signing. Unfortunately when Bomber went back to Aus, the Hull board took the cheap option and appointed Kear. He has an ability to motivate a team for a number of games a year but that is a limited number. I also believe that he gets too close to some players and that causes factions in the sheds.
He wasn't best loved by two of the most professional players that have ever pulled on the black & white hoops. When you lose the respect of players like Kearney and more especially Swain, then you really do have a problem.

| I am a massive fan of JK and the work that he has done for Wakefield over the years. However I too am now starting to think that his tactical know how is somewhat lacking.
I don't mind watching the team lose ( we are all used to that ). Its the effort and performance on the field that counts. At the moment we have nothing but rubbish rugby on the field and a coach that can't change things.
The only way forward for the club however is for Mr Richardson to sell up and move out. The club and super league is too big for him financialy. Very good in div 1 but now out of his deapth. A good well run club off the field will mirror itself on it.

Agreed.
I don't think Kear is the problem. I think the problems are coming from higher up. I'd be interested to see what would have happened if Eric France and Steve Ferres had been allowed to join the board a couple of years back.

| Quote: TURFEDOUT "People seem to be forgetting, that Kear is part of the football committee that sanction comings and goings.
The players we have are Kears.
Kear signed the likes of Johnson, extended Demetrious contract, thought Obst was worthy of a quota spot, brought back Ben Jeffries, thought Paul Cooke would replace Brough.
Kear coaches the team,Kear should be motivating the team.
Kear is the man responsible, whether people like it or not,for our on the field performances. The book stops with him and at this moment that book should be thrown at him.'"
Johnson has been unlucky so how can you criticise that one, who would you have in place of JD, Cooke, BJ , Obst ? Would you keep Latu ?

The difference between us winning and loosing that game, was one thing!
More acurately one player, one D. Brough!!
The decision to release him for whatever resin has proved to be a massive error.
This week like two weeks ago against crusaders we were rubbish but we were beaten by equal rubbish, we were never gonna win the league but a broughy led side would have picked up four more points.
We let broughy go for the betterment of Wakefield Trinity, I would love whoever sanctioned that deal to come out publicly and explain to the fans where we are benefiting currently or what planned benefits we have to expect, because as far as I can see, we are clueless.
As for Cooke, he's abysmal, I just hope he gets home sick sooner rather than later!!!!'"
I wholey agree with this. They should have had a replacement lined up before he went, grave error of judgement.
Regards getting a new coach, JK can stay where he is, these players have shown us what they can do!
They're just showing that they cant/wont do it every week which is not good enough!

| Don't blame Kear he's doing his best with his hands tied behind his back. The board in my opinion are fully responsible. This team has gone backwards 7 years in 7 weeks. Five drives and a bomb to corner against an injury ravaged team!!! Diabolical! You just cannot win a game without quality halves. Cooke is a total waste of skin, why Kear keeps bigging him up is beyond belief. Drew and Brough ripped these apart last season now where are they?? Demetriou is doing more harm than good now although you can't fault his effort and commitment he must call it a day. A top half back is a must and who are we looking at bringing in Stosic??? Why?? Fans are dropping like flies at Belle Vue/Hearwell and today's shambles is another nail in the coffin of our next franchise bid.

Feline,i was questioning the signing or extending contracts of these players, which Kear played his part in.
This is Kears team, not one that he has inherited and they are playing without desire or motivation.Even supporters from other teams have commented tonight how uninterested our players looked.
Everyone seems to say that we have limited resources and Kear does a good job with whats at his disposal and in the past he may well have.Unfortunately i feel that we have now reached a crossroads with Kear,in that our on field performances are reflecting just how limited our resources are.On current form i would think we are pretty much facing finishing in the bottom two,as i just cant see were another win would come from. The recent performances that have been served up,dont indicate Kear is working on just limited resources, but performances that are akin to the lowest budget in the league.
