Admittedly I am way over in Aussie and don't fully understand ins and outs of Supeleague but I am surprised at talk of Danny Brough not putting in if he is of to another club. He should go and talk to Tronc. Tronc was devastated last year when the idiots at the Cowboys did not offer him a contract. He signed for Wakefield half way through last year.

He then went on to play career best football for the rest of the year. He was our best and most consistant forward with a work ethic he has continued at Wakefield. He made cowboys management look very bloody silly.

These guys are really competitive professional athletes. They should be playing for themselves and their pride in their own ability as well as their mates at training.

I reckon DB would have a blinder.

Unfortunately Brough has a very morngy side to him and has declared himself unavailable for selection, probably not wanting to get injured to protect his new contract at hudds. Don't think hes been very professional in his handling of this particular situation. Tronc going great for us by the way, what a machine!

I'd have no problems with Brough playing if he had agreed to sign for someone but was staying for the remainder of the season. It's happened on numerous occasions before Korki recently, Solomona and loads of others have put plenty in knowing they were going somewhere else.

If it's just for the sake of one game though, there is absolutely no point whatsoever.

I agree upthecats but I think Brough has made his bed, seems like he doesn't want to play for us so there's no point in playing him. Would have been nice for him to have one last farewell to say thanks to the club, jk and the fans but obviously he thinks he's bigger than that so good riddance I say.

I would guess that it is to do with the fact that we have a lot of our key players who were cast offs from other clubs and who were not valued too highly by other clubs when we got them Brown, Robinson, Wild or kids and lower league players we signed up on long deals Lunt, cudjoe, lawrence, Kirmond or players who would rather play for us and get paid less than the market value ie Eorl.

Even with brough we are paying him about £125 K than Bradford are paying Orford. I still reckon this takes us to less than Wire, saints, Leeds wage bill but i would guess we are at the top of the salary cap now.

Thanks for the insight, I didn't realise you had that much headroom. Hopefully, some of the young lads we have coming through at Wakey can make the step up to SL and we can emulate the same thing here.

Can see where you're coming from but think the likes of brown wild and Robinson will be on good wages now. They went to Hudds with a point to prove and proved it well so will have had increased contract offers. Obviously you have room for brough otherwise he wouldn't be signing for you.

Just to put a few things straight.
Everything had been agreed and hands shaken for Brough to come to us in exchange for Cash and a player. The player you was getting was told to attend training on Monday morning for Wakey. Within half an hour of the hand shakes, the Giants player was told by phone call not to bother cos Wakey had changed their minds. For every day Wakey mess the Giants about it's costing them(Wakey) a grand a day.

Oh and Wakey told Brough he's not playing today and not to attend the game.
Hope that helps.

Judging by the half time score today looks like you do not need Brough.

I've heard more stories than Jackanory told over this, you may well be right, who knows.
