I wonder who will use it, methley perhaps?'"
I don't think anyone will be playing there full time but it will be good to have a home for finals and the like instead of using different venues all the time. two stands on two seperate pitches i believe.

| Quote: PHe "In the various comments and quotes regarding the 'launch', I've not seen any reaction /support /comment from WMDC either elected members or paid officials. It has previously been stressed how important the support is from this 'body', however, no word yet.
Am I being paranoid?
Yes and no.
But it comes as part and parcel of being a Trin fan, maybe they will given time

| The tone of the Express was very much geared towards the benefits for the city rather than just the club's position, which is a good sign. If that how the development is to be viewed, becaue of the industrial tie-ins, then any opposition will struggle, I imagine.

| Bit confused re stadium pics. Some show a continuous roof running all along the stadium. Some pics show corners open with no roof.

| Reading that the ground is dependent on the development, does this mean that the ground is dependent on the development to the extent that all the units would have to be sold/leased. or just that the development has to be built, irrespective of whether occupied or not. ?

The stadium is dependant on the development gaining approval, not necessarily whether there have tenants for the units or not. The stadium must be built first before the rest of the site I believe.

| I would imagine that it is based on the approval of the industrial complex, not sale or lease, or else it would never get off the ground. The ground would be a short hop from the junction of the M1 and the M62, and so I would expect the units to be filled easily.

| I expect opposition to either A) become appeased with the complex and realise it's benefits, or B) wither away... Legal action costs money & requires a decent argument & "not in my back yard" certainly isn't one.
Between Mr Mackey and Sir Rodney this project has a hell of a lot of clout behind it!

As it stands now, 4 free-standing stands would be built, with corners filled in to expand capacity. however it now appears the trust would prefer it to be done from the start. i do prefer the closed model though!

| Good to see that the most important rugby league news for the BBC today is Leeds fielding seven first team players in a friendly match.
