| Shame about the kick off time and the queuing to get it. Felt really sorry for the girl arriving at 3 and wondering why everyone was leaving.

| Quote: Pilchard "What now happens to this team next season. Great set of lads, who individually work within a tremendously well honed unit. Team work of the highest order. Without doubt the best Trinity TEAM I have seen in my 11/12 years of following Trin. And I remember Ellis/Hudson/Westwood etc.
I know some have tasted SL.
But what is the Academy/Reserve set up next season.'" there will be some of the academy players from the team still entitled to play next season, the reserve side will become an under 20s academy, so there will be a few that will move to another club

I have a league express from august where Barrie Jon Mathers explains the new system and makes some comments how he feels it will work, I intend to put a write up of this piece
it was an extraordinary feeling when the whistle blow and the lads was celebrated, I was pleased to have this on my camera so put this on here for keeps

| There's a good discussion re the salary cap on the Wigan site.
In view of your superb season at U18 level do you think there should be some sort of discount / allowance against the salary cap for players a club has produced at junior level? I do, and it's somrthing I have argued for years.

The wages definitely should be weighted IMO. Something along the lines of club produced players salaries should only count 50% to the salary cap. I think I saw something on the Wigan site which proposed the idea that salaries of club produced players should count 50% towards the cap, a federation trained player’s salary counts 100% and overseas imports count 150%. I think there is something in this idea. Perhaps this is more feasible once the residual imports who have been in SL for over 4 years have left/retired and there are no more loop holes.

| I've just seen the two teams in todays League Express. Really made up that Wigan reached the final with that side.
Apart from Melling, all of them are young enough to play at U18 level next season.
Wigan could have drafted in four or five of the reserve side that won the Grand final into the U18's final but obviously decided to let the younger kids who had beaten Bradford the week before a deserved chance.

| Wakefields GF winning side contains a large number of players who are still elligable next season.
Should be a productive period for the Junior system at Trinity lets hope the results are'nt wasted as has been the case so many times in the past.

What happened to the players in that side?
We need to make sure that we identify those who can make it and concentrate on building those players into ones who can challenge for honours with Wakefield.

| Though I can't see the team photo properly, I assume it's the Trevor Bailey team. I seem to think they played Wigan too?!!?!
Seem to remember Billy Conway playing against Martin Dermott and looking the much better player (but that may have been Yorks v Lancs game) but Dermott played for GB for a long time and Billy didn't.
Obviously we had other players who played for the club a long time and achieved a good standing in the game at the top level and some that faded away.
The same will happen in this team. Some players that look great at this level won't make it for various reasons, some the other way.
