| Two memories for me:
1. a game in around 1978, when it was abandoned at half-time because of fog, and I think we were winning 5-2 or something. Don't know if it was replayed.
2. The relegation decider and Danny Brough's 40-20 (or not). I still put our club's continued existence to him missing that kick. Cas were 3 points ahead about half way through the second half and Brough (in Cas colours) went for a 40-20. If he had got it, they may well have scored, as they had the momentum, and would have been too far away to catch in a tight game like that. He missed it, as it went out on the full. So we had the scrum well inside their half, scored from the next set to go ahead (I think it was Monty), and never looked back.
Good old Danny's boot.

It was for a playoff place in 2000 IIRC.

No, think it was the last game of 2002. We had to beat an already safe Warrington and you had to beat Salford at the Willows. We had Warrington beat after 20 minutes, and so the rest of the game was spent trying to stand near someone with a radio. When the game at Belle Vue ended, everyone just milled around, waiting for the result from Salford. You won a close game, and we all got on the pitch.

correct the win put you in 5th place and relegated salford at the same time we crushed wire meaning that even if salford drew they were going down on P/D.

Sure you've got the year wrong. 2002 is my memory.

Remember being in Canada picking up a paper to see we had won that game. Checking through stats was Nathan Wood's last game for us. Ben played against fax the following week and then they both ended up at Wire.
