I don't know anything about this, but I'm also aware that there is a lot of guessing about the overseas thing and therefore we should be careful of any assumptions about anyone leaving - I don't have a clue about it!

I think if 'king Kear lets Charlie go it will be the last straw for me. Though I've already said I won't watch Wakey under Kear ...though I'm sure a few wins would have changed my fickle mind.

IF Charlie does go it won't just be a simple case of like / not like. You are well aware of where we are as a club and if 'Grond' doesn't work out - it doesn't work out!

I think our problem is that i think we had already signed Parker before Charlie came to the club so there was never going to be any room on the quata for him this season so i may be wrong but i think we never intended to keep him on beyond the end of the 2010 season because we didn't expect him to be as good as he was.

My guess is that it will be the last straw for you I'm afraid but as TRB has said there are many factors that have to be taken into consideration when making a decision. I'll bet its a quota thing as much as anything but we have to look at the team as a whole and fill in where its most needed.

If Charlie came over to play for a contract until the end of this season, then he cannot be under contract to the club and therefore must be a free agent perhaps waiting for the club to offer him something maybe, if that is so how can the League Express say that the club will be announcing shortly that Charlie is to be released.

Contracts are usually until the begining of November, so it probably means we are releasing him a month early - with pay. Strictly speaking we could 'ask' players, who we class as OOC and we are not retaining, to do a couple of pre-season weeks as we start again on 11 October.
PS 13 weeks as of yesterday and our first pre-season game, assuming we are playing on Boxing Day. Bring it on!

If Laeano is released, it makes his signing look like a bit of a waste of time; why go to the bother of bringing a third string Aussie player (and his family) half way round the world, to have him play for only half a season?

That said, he's a million miles from the finished article, so if he's replaced by a young English prop, that's fine by me.

Filled a gap for us, and allowed Charlie to put himself in the shop window, so to speak.

I'd like him to stay, but he needs to carry on the improvement he showed last season - god it feels good saying 'last season', I'm glad that nightmare is behind us now!
