Indeed. So this seeming panacea makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. Why would HMRC accept however much in the £ voluntarily when we have funds due for Belle Vue the minute we leave?

Well they will get the superleague money and have no real expectations to compete, plus a big increase in crowds and revenue giving them money to spend on their second campaign, so plenty to gain.

Im not saying it will happen but theirs nothing to stop it. Widnes could play the squad they have as their would be no expectations on them to compete, pocket the money from Sky plus increased crowd money and build for the year after, perhaps adding a few players as the season progressed.

| I'm sure WHEN Widnes start their next SL campaign, they will want to hit the ground running, with a strong squad and some momentum behind them. Walk in now, with a squad assembled under a 300K salary cap, and all you can hope for is a few heroic performances. Getting hammered week in, week out, will soon disillusion supporters, broadcasters, sponsors etc. To suggest it as a serious alternative is ludicrous. If it comes to that, the RFL would be better off loaning Wakey the 350K to see out the season.

Can't remember the exact figure, feline, but it's been mentioned on here a few times. Was it a couple of million, or 3? Anyway, supposedly, we're still owed half.

| Were then shareholders not informed about the details of the Belle View sale prior to it going through (decision to sell, offers on table, terms of sale, agreed sale value, loans against future monies derived from the sale etc)?
In terms of WTW what is a "shareholder"?

From the PR at the time the Shareholders had apparently given the board the mandate to sell the ground when the Thornes Park Sports Village was first mooted.

A "shareholder" at WTWC is like being a blood donor. at Least once a year they will ask you to donate, you will have no idea or say where it goes, or what it is used for. You get a free cup of tea and a biscuit, and a well done sticker, then its out of the door till next time!

Quite funny for you, only we don't even get a sodding biscuit. Any further ideas on the situation re: the ground/monies?

You are correct, however you forget that your own club are currently asking fans to contribute towards their £70k needed for u18s academy.
Have you contributed yet?
