Quite - how can Tim run the show with no possession! If we had gained any element of control in that second half, then we would have won. But then we wouldn't have changed coach either!
If the price for SL survival is losing at home to Leigh, then I'll take it. We have to make this situation work for us now!

| Poptart not looking for an argument but why do you want Miller at fullback? Last year IIRC you thought Sammut should play fullback instead of 6 and that was a disaster. IMO Sammut needs a run at 6 alongside Smith, last year Warrington away these two were paired and it proved successful. halfbacks are not the answer for fullback, just because Tomkins was a success doesn't mean it will work for every halfback.
Craig Hall is an enigma. He wears the 1 shirt, but watching him this season just reminds me how badly we miss a proper out and out fullback, such as Matty Blaymire or Richie Mathers. Neither set the world alight, Blaymire slow in attack, Mathers shaky in defence, but both would be better options than any we have right now.

| Ashurst was in the team the last time it won a SL game. Thought they said out 3 months with groin injury first week of March which may mean mid June?
Need a hooker on the bench to interchange with McShane. I think the 17 may be.....
1. Hall
2. Owen
3. Collis
4. Lynne
5. Riley
6. Sammut
7. T.Smith
8. Scruton
9. McShane
10.Anderson
11.Ryan
12.Kirmond
13.Washbrook
Subs. Godinet, Paea, Kavanaugh, Annakin

If Dan Smith is fit he'd be ahead of Kavanagh who hasn't had much impact since his arrival on loan.

Trying to kick a 40/20?, a kick into the in goal area to force a repeat set?
Unfortunately he has a poor kicking game ,is poor defensively and very rarely takes on the line. His saving grace has always been a good passing game, missing out men and putting players into gaps but even that this season is nowhere to be seen.
Our halfbacks are the major problem, hence we are scoring so few points.

With respect I think that is rubbish, our major problem is our defence not our half backs who admittedly haven't been great but without a platform who would be

A matter of opinion I guess.
The stats say we are pretty average at missing tackles, but have fewest attacking kicks in the league,
We badly need a kicking game from somewhere and I don't see it coming from smith and miller.

I agree he hasn't been playing very well, but I still think we see the best from him, or any halfback, when the forwards are winning. That was behind our recruitment thinking, but it hasn't worked out.

| Tim Smith has proven his quality time and again over the seasons he's been with us. His kicking has never been good and I would like to see a half with a kicking game play at the side of him [cough sammut cough]. However, what's he supposed to do when the structures/runners off the ball aren't even there to give him good options? Individually the team is good but as a team we are pathetic. Sick of seeing the forwards receive the ball on a standing start with no depth. There's no nice attacking structure of flow to our attack and too many times we lose the wrestle on the floor. To leave Godinet out last weekend was criminal as well. Godinet and McShane spelling.

I wish the half backs were the major problem. Powder puff defence, a lack of desire to make the tackle, poor defensive structures and no cohesion.

Sunday was the absolute prime example of this.

Absolutely true; we look disorganised and confused in defence, and too unfit to maintain any structure - and the tackling itself is poor; we don't wrap the ball up, we don't control the ruck and we don't apply any pressure to the kicker - or protect the player receiving the ball. Stick up a bomb against Wakey - you'll almost always get something out of it.
With regard to half-backs - Tim Smith is still one of the best passers of the ball in SL, but as I've always said, his kicking game is sub-par; our last tackle options as a result are very limited, and rarely pressure the opposition. And Miller doesn't help him at all - he's like a headless chicken.

Do the stats count players strolling through the defensive line untouched as missed tackle? Surely you have to attempt a tackle to miss it.
