| i probably get shot down for saying this, but really feel we could do with another prop that could make the hard yards required to get the backs moving, think we alittle light in this area but hope i am wrong as think rest of team is shaping up nicely tbh , lets hope we can get 2 points at widnes on friday

In the last few years this forum has collected a number of posters like you. In the know, can't be challenged and always always knowing better that the incumbent Coach. However you are without doubt the worst of the breed so far.
I actually feel sorry for you, such deluded self regard and importance cannot be easy to live with - trust me I know. Plenty have come before you, made themselves look foolish and gone - so turn the light off on your way out.
Oh and to all those joining in this ludicrous, pointless, groundless and boring prop obsession - he's gone for a month - yes a whole month - are we really going to miss our 5th/6th choice prop that much for four games - get a grip folks.

We have been through this as length - we have 6 props - the four starting props are all on the larger size. Plus in Marriano and Ali L we have two of the bigger S/R in the game.
I honestly don't think it possible to please Trinity fans. If we signed another prop we'd have to another group saying we were light on wingers or half backs - it never ends.
As it happens I think props and halfbacks are the two main areas to build and I'm happy enough with both compared to last year - Rome was not built in a day. Another would be nice but it's hardly worth the obsession on here.
Still I'm sure every loss rightly or wrongly will be blamed on that missing extra prop.
Come on everyone it's getting a bit repetitive especially for those who just want to get on and enjoy the season including the players

| We could be short a certain kind of prop - the gnarly, tackle-busting, impact kind - and if one becomes available, I'm sure we'll be in for him.
In the meantime, we'll be ok; must be a bit disheartening for the likes of Wilkes, Amor and Raleigh, to hear that despite all their hard work, a large contingent of fans don't think they're good enough or big enough.

| That's the point though, there isn't a quality prop available who could do the job everyone talks about, the club have even said if one becomes available they would be interested but until then we will be alright. Everyone wants to add quality to their squad but it's not as if we are badly in need of one imo anyway, not in the way some people go on. End of the day by the time we got the nod for SL we were always behind the eight ball and big, strong, hard running props are a premium to star with.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |

| Wasn't ambler from Leeds looking for a loan deal. We could do alot worse.
Would be a good addition for a few months.

He would be ok if we didnt have 4/5 other props exactly like him, hes 6ft 3 and around 16st so is a similar build to what we already have in terms of size. Ive not seem that much of him but he dosent seem like a massive hard hitting prop that everyone is asking for.

Why don't you wait and see before deciding that?
Every season I've watched Wakey we have been short of this miraculous individual. Even when we sign them there never good enough, Stosic has now reached the level of legend yet when we signed him the experts had him down as no good.
Team form as the season goes on, preparation is important but you can't prepare for everything - not on our budget or that of most SL clubs.
If I were you I worry more about having a F/B who after 10 years at the highest level still allows the ball to bounce - not convinced about the two wingers in that regard either.
More tries will be conceded due to this than any prop could ever put right. But that's just my opinion.

Tronc was one such individual.
I think what people are hankering after now is a prop in the mould of O'Meley, Moa or even Feka, when he was any good - the type who will come on for short bursts and run like a train, hurt some defenders and create gaps that the backs can play into.
If such a prop became available, I'm sure that the recent house-clearing activity that RA has undertaken will mean that there's a bit of brass available to at least be in the running.

U will shoot me down as u always do with people that disagree with u but I really don't care!!'"
No it's not called being shot down, it's called debate and challenging others opinions whilst expressing your own. Why you and so many others on here struggle with this concept is a mystery - it is after all called a forum.
You may be right but time will tell.
As a matter of interest can you name me all these that has more than 4 proven SL props because I've had a shufty and frankly it's all down to opinion in most cases as to whether they have.
Saints only have two out and out props in Luke Perry and McCarthy Scarsbrook, with Puletua available. The rest are "kids" as you put it and relative unknowns. Are they no hopers. Leeds are best off but even then they are a mix. Moore, Peacock, Griffin, Kirk, Baily - thats five plus Pitts and Ambler who are still relatively untried and in Amblers case lightweight (15st 6lbs). I'd take that line up who wouldn't but we have not got that budget. We have done very well to find 4 first choice props of reasonable quality. Whilst at the same time you do Trout, Spiers and above all James a dis-service.
Hudds have recruited massive squads in recent times yet it has not produced great results - not yet anyway. So it clearly isn't the be all and end all to have 8 props in the team.
Very few clubs have a full squad of proven SL standard players. All have some up and comers whilst most have squad players who can fill the gaps when they appear. We have done well to recruit so many proven players but you have to accept we can't cover everything and on occasion some players will have to step up to the mark. So perhaps the glass is half full, try it you might like it.
