| I think this membership is something we all need to tell our mates about and the club needs to push. You only need to go to the Salford, Harlequinns and Catalans home games and you have covered your £30
I would imagine it is difficult for the club to have a wholesale price cut as this is not fair to the people who have already bought the various memeberships

Aye, think I'll head down the club shop this week too, I've already got a home shirt, so I might get myself an away one. It's at times like this that I wish I hadn't bought all the stuff I did before christmas from the club shop, so I could go and buy it all now. Guess I'll just have to find more stuff in the shop to spend my money on!

| For the Salford match, I'd go with an open invitation from Mr Glover; I'm the new owner, it's the first home game of the season and we're having a party at BV to celebrate. Come on down, join in the fun and pay what you can afford on the gate.
Radiohead did something similar with a recent album release (In Rainbows - released for download without a record label) and I'm sure the result was that on average, people paid about half the cost of a CD to download the album, netting the band a tidy profit. The only sticking point could be people like me who bought a ST last year; never mind, make it up to us later with some kind of ST holders offer.
I'd also sell the opportunity for some local businesses to have people circulating the crowd handing out flyers and literature, together with getting the Dolls to work the crowd, handing out West Yorkshire Windows info or even making appointments for estimates.

| Thats a good idea. Even if we lost out it would be nice for 1 match.
The Salford game is too soon now though I feel as publicity needs time to grow with something like that.

A bad example given that Radiohead have not repeated the idea with their latest album.
The club needs to be run as a business - and the last thing I want to see is the club 'giving away' the value of watching the club. We need, if we are to grow as a club, to be able to realise value from our support base - but I do agree that some type of 'added value' would be a good idea for this and other 'lesser' games!

Think this game will have come to quick for the new owners luckily it's not one of the ones that it is essential to target. I'm sure they will be looking at deals/offers for games against Quins, Catalan and Crusaders. Would be nice to get a big attendance for the first home game of the new regime but the chances of that lay with the stay aways.

I think we're a million miles away from the luxurious position you describe; you're assuming a larger supporter base than those of us who turn up each week exists (which I agree with by the way) but to extract any value from them, we have to get them through the door. Right now, the 'value' of watching the club to those people is nil - it only has value to those people who attend and there aren't enough of us to sustain the club as a viable business. The most effective way to improve that situation is to grow the supporter base we're trying to extract value from, rather than using the Ted technique of trying increasingly desperate ways to get more money from the same few mugs.
My example probably wasn't the best, but it was fresh in my mind; however, the point remains that much more respected and 'valuable' brands than WTW have derived terrific mileage from giveaways. I think it's got legs and I'm not at all convinced that it would devalue the brand if it was tagged on to a 'new owner, new era - let's party' type promotion.
