| True tricky which is why i agree with the decision to let JD (my favourite player go) but if you constantly replace good players with cast offs and offloads (shopping in the bargain basement) it doesn't matter who coaches the team.....
We have no money, that the truth and we are up against week in week out teams that have more....IMO (and i have supported them) things aren't good, but they would be worse without Kear. He is still the best man for the job.

Thats your choice and one you're entitled to make. However if ever Trin needed it's supporters to stick with em it's now. This is the most crucial phase in our recent history. Yes the rugby is pretty dire and yes it might feel more like a chore than enjoyment but the more the numbers reduce the more likely we are to go to the wall in the next couple of seasons. Try and find your inner masochistic self and get yourself down to some games, you know it makes no sense!

Now that would be a disaster. Poching should be left in the past - anyone to replace Kear needs to be a top level coach, not a water carrier for the Rhinos. Great player that he was, I wouldn't want him to tarnish his legacy with us.

| At 28-10 down Poching came onto the field at the Majic weekend and blasted instructions at the Champions.

| Kear is the best around.
End of.
The problems we have are because we are playing with the shell of a team we built.
Take the top half back, prop and hooker away from any team and your left with problems.
John will build us back, give him time and for gods sake have some respect for the man who saved our club.

Water carrier and messenger then - he relays instructions from the head coach. Nothing to suggest he could be head coach at a team with a lot less talent and resources.
I'm not saying Kear is the man, but Poching certainly isn't.
Went above and beyond as a player for us, but sentiment should not decide who should be coach. Ability and a proven track record should.
Or just appoint an aging player/assistant coach cos it's cheaper, obviously.

100% agree
we had the guts of a great team for this season ripped out from us,
if people are looking for some one to blame, look to Danny brough shane tronc and terry newton
Kear will re build what was taken from him and us
He has my 100% backing and IMO is the best british coach in the game, what we need to give him is time

I don't care if we win, lose or draw as long as the team gives 100% every week and each player wears the shirt with pride.: |
|
| No one can doubt what JK did but that was then. Loyality is a dangerous thing but life moves on.
We gave John a job and he delivered.
We are now paying him a good salary and he is not delivering.
Re Brough - He was well out of form for several weeks before he left and this was a situation he let go that far. One which could have been resolved in the off season if dealt and managed correctly. We lost Drew and Brough due to that, but that seems to have been conviently forgotten about.
Re Tronc - He was a gamble that paid off but this is a squad game, not just a 17 man game and the squad needs to be strong enough to cater for loss of players for whatever reason.
Re Newton - People talk like he was the pivotal key member of the team. He only played a handful of games and wasn't all that TBF.
We need to look forward, not back. Yes JK has not had things all his own way but that is life. Good coaches will continue to be good coaches and good coaches get the best out of what we have and he is simply not doing that at this moment in time.
Also, let's not forget he's let some players go and most of the current squad are player's he brought to the club so he has to be accountable for that.

Just a suggestion, Willie kept us in SL basically on his own, helped take Leeds to the next level and has spent many years there learning the ins and outs of a champion side. He's also a good talker judging by his occasional radio appearances.
I like the way he played and the heart he showed, I like the respect the fans showed him even whilst at Leeds, he'd start with 100% backing and appreciation from the fans. I could imagine he'd be 100% dedicated to providing quality RL to the fans that he's said "He will never forget." not side tracked by TV appearances and sunny deals in France. Young coaches are the way forward now and who better?
