Quote: Dunkirk Spirit "I’ve been openly critical on this forum of the government,Boris various ministers. I’ve stated on this thread, that I started losing faith in the government, the day it was said, the 15,000 airport passengers a day, arriving in the U.K. would not be health checked, Quarantined, Passengers were allowed to travel country wide on all forms of transport, spreading the virus. The government excuse was, the virus is already wide spread, therefore it wouldn’t make any difference putting health checks in place now. I thought, what a stupid statement, it’s like throwing more Wood onto the fire, instead of water. I’m more annoyed also with Boris lack of authority in banning these protests and bringing all those who are causing violence and destruction to book. I will have the opportunity to vote for or against this lot at the next election, providing, the BLM haven’t by then overthrown the government, and imposed a Dictatorship.'"

BLM wont be imposing any dictatorship, despite what the Tory press may be trying to tell us.
Absolutely agree with the first part of your post though. The lack of any travel ban was as though they believed that the UK was going to escape any effects of the virus.
How very wrong they were.
The absolute nonsense about "if we lock down too early, people will get fed up and not stick to the rules" was, yet another false statement.
IF we'd locked down harder and sooner AND prevented air travel to and from overseas destinations, we would have been closer to getting through the other side and there would have been fewer casualties.
In this sense Boris is just as daft as Trump and Bolsonaro (the Brasillian leader).

Quote: Jethro Gibbs "Typical Vastman/ Fishersmancap, as this is my first input on this subject so how can I don’t like the way the debate is heading, I wasn’t trying to smear any inference, if you had read my earlier post today I actually agreed with Dunkirk Spirit in is thinking. Free speech does not mean that you’re always right and everybody else is wrong and for your information I believe COVID-19 is the hottest topic in the world today as I think the BLM will disappear in time'"

If yoU say so but I’m struggling to read what you posted any other way to be honest. That said this is the state of paranoia that has been created of late and it will only get worse so get used to it.

Covid should be the only issue at the moment but it has been hijacked by BLM activists during the current sanity vacuum created by it.

The Vastman/FC comment makes me laugh. Why would it matter even if we were the same person? I invoke the Floyd precedent, ie the fact that although he had a seriously nasty history and was a seriously unpleasant person it didn’t excuse the cop who murdered him. Hence my alleged double identity is utterly irrelevant as it always is. Ask FC I’m sure he’d back me up icon_rolleyes.gif

Get real the BLM and there left wing allies already have, your just too blind to see. As for the so called Tory press are you serious, they seem to be more on there knees than most, even the Mail seems to be grovelling at the feet of these political vandals. See Piers Morgan he’s so far up them he’s almost out the other end. It’s pathetic.

Quote: wrencat1873 "Can any of the conspiracists explain what is going on in Brazil.
There are an awful lot of people getting ill and rising numbers of deaths.
Have they just got the flu or is this a government led conspiracy to keep the people down.

Interesting that their leader, who denied the presence of the virus and massively underplayed its effects, is now presiding over a huge number of cases and deaths and they look certain to take an unwanted position at as the worst affected nation on the planet and we're still waiting for India and parts of Africa to "catch up".

Is it still just a con job ?'"

To put things into context for you regarding the recent MSMs obsession with Brazil

UK Population - 67,875,356
Total UK COVID cases - 303,110
Total UK COVID Deaths - 42,589
Deaths per 1M population - 627

Brazil Population - 212,512,836
Total Brazil COVID cases - 1,043,168
Total Brazil COVID Deaths - 49,156
Deaths per 1M population - 231

Brazil are doing way better than us, that's three times better, based on the adjusted population figures. The BBC should concentrate on our country's own problems, stop sucking up to the UK government and stop with political point scoring overseas.

And you seriously believe that Brazil has the same reporting capability as we do. Some of the reporting from some countries are utterly ludicrous. Notably those of Germany and Russia. Belgium and Germany share an open border yet Belgium has a four fold higher total, what Covid has a passport.

Whatever the failings of the UK Gov I certainly believe our figure are far more realistic than many.

Having read 44 pages of (mostly) informative and highly intellectual debate, and generally enjoyed reading most of it. can I just ask one question? Did the French prime minister spend 14 days in quarantine during his recent visit to these shores?

Total tests performed in Brazil as of today 2,409,830. This mean of those suspected they've still found 53% are testing negative. I can only go by the figures we are provided. Tests are by no means native to the UK after all aren't we just being guided by the WHO and information supplied from China. You also cannot expect every country in the world to be prepared with test kits for a noval virus. At the moment Brazil have performed less tests than us but by looking at the number of confirmed cases for the last 30 days they appear to be increasing tests performed day by day. Unfortunately I cannot find out Brazils current testing capacity compared to ours.

It's often said that politics is a horseshoe where the far left and far right are much closer to each other than most people realise.

An interesting read...

Based on your analysis of looking at the reported rates can you give a comparison of excess deaths between the UK and the small South American country of Peru?

I’m my element now and to be fair it doesn’t take the wisdom of ages to dismantle the hypocritical stupidity of the current situation.

What scares me is that if I find it so easy then why are the press and the government finding it so difficult?

A government with a huge mandate! Yet they seem powerless to enforce the will of those who voted them in.

Even Redcat must be wondering why this government seems so scared to use the power it has. What exactly is Boris scared of, all very sinister.

Again! What you say only stack up if you accept the figures given. Brazil is a semi corrupt nation, China is totally corrupt and the WHO is owned by China! Trump is a vile man but that doesn’t automatically make wrong and the above is a perfect example of what he calls ‘fake news’.

Seriously is it even remotely credible that France, Italy and the U.K. are all 30,000 + whilst Germany claims to be 20% of that, come on it’s just not credible.

However people seem happy not to question these ludicrous figures so long as they can use them to bash Boris! How does this help? This is not a party issue at the end of the day it represent to me just how week British society now is and that’s reflected in our politicians, all of them.

Our governments response has been poor in parts but not so poor as to make other nation figures stack up. We need to open our ears and not just listen to the bits that suit us.

The CIA believe China’s deaths figure is closer to a half a million than 3,000 that its propaganda arm the WHO accepts. We are nowhere near that yet you’d think we had a regime in power every bit as evil as China, utter nonesense.

The truth will out in the end and when the hysteria dies down the U.K. as is so often the case will come out cleaner than most. Lessons will need to be learned sure but perhaps the biggest one is the British people desire to self loathe and believe anything that supports that odd desire to stop,

No they havent.
Although hes a useless wind bag of a Prime Minister, last time I looked, Boris Johnson was still living at No 10 and "running" the country.
