TBH if they play big then they are big.
I give you the legend that is Nigel Bell - 5'8" max and about 15 stone in later years and too small to be a prop - step forward Nigel Bell easily one of the best props we have had at Trinity in the last 30 years.
Size helps butit's not the be all and end all, if Trouts learn technique and has the heart he will be whatever he wants to be.'"
This.

| I think Kyle has the potential and ability to develop into a very good 2nd rower.......At academy level he had a size advantage and was a very powerful running prop.....he no longer had the size and power advantage he did then but i saw quite a few signs last backend when called upon to suggest he's athletic enough and is learning to run the right lines to make him an effective second rower.....still bags of potential for me....as have Annekin and Walshaw...

I agree with your points but he is 6ft 2 trust me, as you said some players look smaller and bigger.

| It's all relative isn't it. If he's 6'2 but surrounded by people 6'4 he will look smaller. Anyway was just my opinion. What's everyone else's starting pack then?

| Trout scored one decent try against Castleford in our last game and people seem to have selective memory all of a sudden. Kyle for me looks very lightweight for a second rower and although his defence isn't horrendous his attacking prowess and go forward is pretty much zilch. I can't fault his effort but for me he hasn't shown anything to say he can make it in super league. He has no offload game, little line-breaking ability and limited pace from what I've seen. However, with a good pre-season under his belt, you never know. Some players come from nowhere. Like Annakin at the beginning of last season.

8. Scott Anderson
9. Paul Mcshane
10. Richie Moore
11. Taulima Tautai
12. Danny Kirmond
13. Matt Ryan
14. Andy Raleigh
15. Dan Smith
16. Ali Lauitiiti
17. Matt Wildie
Need to start with some real grunt and aggression up front hence Anderson, Moore and Tautai with Ali at his best out wide when defences tiring bring him on plus Wildie's pace around the play the ball. Just think we need more from our 13 this season so would try Ryan there.

| Feel for Kyle a bit. He has been messed about somewhat over the last 2/3 years. One minute telling him to bulk up the next to lose some. His defence and work rate for me are better than Annakins but you don't get the same impact with his carries.
On a positive note it's nice to have a couple of young forwards who are both home grown and if either are in the 17 you have no concerns as they have very rarely let us down.

| Haven't seen Trout since they returned to training so no idea whether he has bulked up at all but if he is on the same programme as Annakin you can expect him to have put on some size.
Annakin was at the Shirt launch and looks to have really piled it on (in the best possible way)

Your opinions on Trout are frankly ill informed rhubarb as per normal - try facing the pitch next time you watch him.
As for Anakin, if you knew the club properly especially the youth set you would know that Anakin did not "come from nowhere" and was fully expected to be a success by just about everyone at the club. Agar was late on the up take but tbf he wasn't at the club when Anakin was the star of the under 19's.

| I'd keep both at the club.
Annakin I'd be happy as a starting back row though it is a position with competition for places.
Trout I've been happy with every time he has played. I think he needs another season with a clearly defined role and he'll work out fine.

Are you still accusing people of being 'rhubarb'... ?..?
It must be seven years since you last accused me of being that person.... And I still feel the scars

| Agree on the point about Annekin...he hardly sneaked up and came from nowhere! Was one of the best i've seen at the club at academy level right up there and probably above the likes of Ellis and Westwood at that age......still has the potential to go the same way as those two for me....

| I just hope players are picked on pre season form only. Tautai was very poor last season and on his past form is well down the pecking order , Smith has to prove that he deserves a place, the only way he can do this is impress in training and rip into the pre season games, I doubt that any one has seen him play yet he gets into some peoples starting line up, based on what ? Our two new Aussie forwards have to prove that they are better than Trout, Anakin and Walshaw in order to deserve selection. We are in for a backs to the wall season, players getting selection on reputation, like last season, will be a disaster. London now have a new owner and a tie up with Wigan which will see Wigan loan junior players to London. Most of our first team players have shown over the last two seasons that they do not have the ability to beat Wigans second team, the only players who have proved that they could win against Wigans best are Wildie, Trout, Anakin and Walshaw who ran the Wigan team ragged at under 18`s and 20`s. I hope that these players if they impress in training and perform well in pre season games are given a start.

| That's why I won't pick a starting 13/17.
Earned on merit in pre-season and very few of us have that knowledge.
