| Quote: alegend "Brave thing to do newgroundb-4 cas to come on here and criticise J C. Getting to think my self what does he do .The only time I heard his name called by the commentators when, he was offside in the first half when we had Catalan in there 25 He as improved a lot ,but no way a stand in hooker maybe a 21 squad member .But not a week in week out 17 starter. Think the problem why our forwards seem to have trouble going forward .is when you got J C and Batch on the park at the same time you only got 4 forwards who have any chance of making ground , as J C and Batch are to light weight to make ground when near our line .If you put that along with 30+ forward you can see why we tire in the second half.Ready for flac but come to the point were watching Wakey is putting me of watching R L because every other team looks sharper and fitted than we do'"
I echo RedWhiteandBlue. It's not brave. Gaz NGBC has constantly slated him. At 6ft 2" & 16stones he's not a hooker nor does he want to be. Both hookers have had on and off Injuries for months. Jordan has been asked to help and has and has done a good job covering. Hence the word covering. V Wigan he played 30 mins at 9 and it was 6-6 and really should of been 6-0 to us. For 50 mins we had a recognised 9 and lost 28-0. Was that all Josh fault? No. As a middle which he is he was developing well until having to constantly cover at 9. The problem Jordan has with 'some' fans is they watch the games as a fan for entertainment and analyse it in that way too. Stand out moments play a big part in that analysis. A significant amount of work in defensive structures goes unnoticed by fans but not by players. That's why the players want Jordan in the side. You can't get a better endorsement than that unless of course players are wrong. As far as Westerman is concerned he's been a great signing. He's been a standout player who can play anywhere in the middle. I'm not sure what he's doing next season but I'm sure he'll be an asset for us or someone else.

| REDWHITEANDBLUE all I have said J C as improved a lot he is a 21 squad player but should not be in the 17 every week .Do not see any thing wrong with that .Some people on here are making him out to be a world beater.,The one thing that is holding him back is pace .As he gets better let's hope he gets stronger and faster .There are a few players who should not be in the team every week ,and people come on here and say so .Sorry but that's we're we are .As for hiding behind a key board .Watched Wakey for over 60 year so there are no rose tinted glasses just say it as i see it.Even Daddy Cool said i did not no what I was talking about when Mr Chester was doing is panic buy act in close season before last season started.Isaid that Mr Chester was bringing in rubbish and he was putting the team back 2 year Think I have been proved right because the only player out of that bunch who is going ok is Westerman ,and the only time we looked any good was when we got the team out that had been here for the last 3 year .Sorry RED WHITEANDBLUE .I am as peeved of as any body at the way we are playing at the moment and faiding in the second half but if I can take it from Daddy Cool you got no chance it's Water of a Ducks back

I do like Jordy a lot, and his commitment to the cause is second to none.
One thing though, he is not a hooker. He has stepped in well and gave it his all.
FWIW, I don’t see Josh Wood being over creative there though, too, which as someone brought in there specially, is a concern. It’s a bit like where we were at the moment, when we had Stuart Howarth.
The rumours if true, regarding Westerman, would mean the 13 shirt is up for grabs, which would be the ideal opportunity for Jordy, but also maybe for Brad Walker or even Connor Bailey.
However with a possible new prop coming in, then that could mean Tinny Arona, who for me, is not a prop, could stake a claim, as like Jordy, runs his body to water, week in week out.
Potentially here there is competition for places, mainly in the back row, and sadly, if TA doesn’t get a regular spot in the 13, do you even look at that quota spot.
For me, quota spots should be in the 17 every week, but on merit, and the right balance on the squad
Another dilemma for those making them calls

| Jeez, JC steps in to play out of position and gets slated??
We have much bigger problems than that, or have we just found a convenient scapegoat?

Steps up to play out of position ? He’s a professional player and plays where he is picked - realistically if everyone was fit he wouldn’t be in the starting 17.
Guy gives 100 percent but is a workmanlike back row forward who’s major attribute is his tackling - as a hooker tbh he would be ok if our other hooker was pacy skill full etc but him and woods have too many of the same attributes

On your hypothesis then maybe we should play everyone out of position and see how bad they are too.

| I do not think anyone is slating Crowther, just being realistic. He is not the player some people are making out . He is a hard working back rower with plenty of heart and worthy of a place in the squad.
I can see him moving successfully into the front row eventually.

He is playing out of position in a team that is low in confidence and of course is playing where he is picked.
My point is he's getting a lot of stick on here when we have a LOT of bigger problems.

| I'm allowed a opinion and I don't rate crowther one bit should not be in the team in my opinion. See some of the home grown lads for other teams. JC does not cut the mustard for me. When seeing him as a lf and 2nr row I honestly don't rate him.

| At this point Crowther is a solid loose forward, nothing more, nothing less. A hooker he isn't, even he and Chester knows that i'd imagine but he is helping in in an area we are short and kudos to him for that. Moving forward he will likely continue to develop as a back rower to become a good superleague standard player. I hope that is with us but part of me wonders whether for the sake of his own development a change of scenery might be the best course of action. He's 24 now i think and been with Wakey all along. Sometimes you've got to take a risk to fulfil your potential and to me he looks like a young guy who would benefit from new surroundings. Didn't we announce in the off season that he was being allowed to speak to other clubs to test his worth? We may find out soon enough what he decides.

Have you looked at the bit in bold if it helps I was referring you supporting NGBC being brave he is an absolute keyboard warrior who has nothing but identifying scapegoats to do.

| Been absolutely immense this season and even in the shortened season last year.
Can't fault him for wanting to go 'home' for his final contract.

| Last season he was solid but he was nowhere near as influential and was carrying too much weight imho.
This pre season he looks a stone lighter and in the best shape physically I’ve seen him in many seasons. Last season I would t have been too bothered if he went but this season he has been very good. Fair play to the guy he’s in great form and even if he had signed for another club next year we still get the benefit of him for the remainder of 2021 so just enjoy while it lasts I say.

| If the rumours are true and he is heading home next season, you can't fault his effort and desire for us at the moment - very professional.

Correct. He's been sensational for us so far this season. He will be a big loss if he does leave.
