| Quote: Trinity18 "Surely it’s simple... CC will decide the 17 based on one the previous week which with your example creates a solid case for MCB but how many days were there between games? We have no clue how training went, how MCB performed, how much effort MCB put in and so on and so on... there will be reasoning behind CC’s choice and it won’t all go down to the previous game. This also goes for everyone, don’t want it to seem like I have an issue with MCB!'"
Leading on from TheMightyTrin Bill isn’t an out and out centre, he was a prolific winger back in his NRL days...

| Quote: Wildmoggy "Well what is the best team then?! We can all name individuals who we think would make the team perform better, because we all see differing qualities in certain players, maybe certain ones' are more effective against certain opposition. CC started 'rotating' well before Easter, MCB played and scored against Huddersfield did he not? Did he then retain his place for the next game? No he didn't, why not? Would the winger who he replaced in the Huddersfield game not have scored the try(s) he did? What was the point in playing him in that game? Because the coach wanted him to have some game time, so he doesn't agree with your policy. In our 4 game winning run he felt the need to change things, if you actually listen to his reasons, he says things like, 'Joe Arundel will come into my thoughts for this weekend etc, because he needs to play.' He doesn't say, he'll be suited to the opposition etc does he?! I'll say again, if I was MCB I would have been miffed to have missed out, when I am third choice winger, and a centre plays in my position.'"
As I said, there are reasons for rotation over and above who the best players are.
However I'm pretty sure Chester will not be picking someone a) because he is miffed that someone else played instead of him or b) because one of the fans thinks he should 'get a go'.
I'm a fan of MCB and I think he has more about I'm than you think, but the best way to get in the team above the other wingers is to show up and out perform them in training.
As for Tupou, he isn't a replacement winger. If he only played wing I think I'd find it hard to chose but I'd probably put him above TJ post injury. It's a great position to be in.

He certainly was, he probably would be most people's first pick, he's very consistent, and i'm sure if he was given a rest he'd be well p***ed off!! If the backline was Jowitt, MCB, Arundel, Tupou & BJB that wouldn't bother me....if it was Grix, TJ, Lynne, Tupou & BJB that would arguably be stronger, but not by much, in an ideal world I think they all deserve to be playing regularly, but so far I think Chester has got it just about right, no-one who has come in has had an absolute mare in the backs have they yet??

Yep, I know he used to play there regularly, just for the record, not that anyones' interested I haven't got a problem with him playing there, I was just making the point MCB would have probably been disappointed not to have been given the nod.

| I would play BJB at fullback MCB & Johnson on wings but whatever somebody will be disappointed this is without doubt the best squad since the 77-81 era still think we need a scrum half if we are to really challenge for honours but massive progress in a short time

| Regarding ever presents, Wakey have Bill Tupou, Miller, and Ashurst. Cas have Roberts, Minikin, Webster, and McShane. Some seem to thrive on it McShane in particular and looking further across the whole of SL it seems that players pushing for representative honours are loathe to miss games.

No one in there right mind would play BJB at FB, I thought that one was put to bed years ago after a number of horror shows.

McShane One of his tries last weekend reminded me of the old Peter Kay/John Smiths advert "Top Bombing"

There a 2 coaches from the club but, Friday night "over the hill" is a right pain.
On the plus side, we wont need too many to out number the home support
