He'd only ever get the ball from acting half and we'd kick to him once every 2/3 games. He'd be getting smashed in 'Sallys, do somet silly and end up before the beak. He'd then be the next scapegoat, cry homesickness and be back in Oz before you could say 'our season's gone to shiit again'. We can turn gold to turd like you wouldn't believe

| Quote: Uptoncat " Langley is in his testamonial season, he turned down a big offer from Wire three seasons ago knowing his testamonial money would more than cover his wage increase offered by wire. He'll be around 29 now and he's been pretty unlucky with injuries in his career (this season he's had a relatively injury free run) so he won't be able to command a massive wage. '"
He's only 26 and is a top quality back rower with international experience, why wouldn't he be able to command a big wage?
I'm glad he's re-signed for us, but I am in no doubt he will be one of our highest paid players.

| If I won the eurolottery and then set about building a team in a realistic manner and we assume that we have a new stadium as an attraction; then:
Sharp (Quins)
Broughton (Salford)
Charnely (Wigan)
Murphy
Morton
Ratchford (Salford)
Brough (Hudds)
Mason (Hudds)
Moore (Sts)
Gledhill
Westwood (Warr)
Ferguson
Ellis (Wests)
Davey
Pitts (Leeds)
Burgess (Leeds)
Kopczack (Brad)
It's a young team but is chock full of tallent, they're all GB players, not one overseas.
10 of them have come through the Wakefield Trinity Academy set up

| On the Wigan board says you have signed 2 of our youngsters on full time deals for next year, Josh Vievers and Stu Howarth. Both in theyre 20s and not in first team contention over here.

| If Howarth and Vievers are confirmed, they could prove to be good squad men for you next year. Vievers main criticism though is he lacks pace to be a top player, so not sure where he fits in at or is any better than what you currently have but given time could be a good signing.
Howarth I have only seen a few times so its difficult to judge keep hearing good things about him but if I am honest I have yet to see it but as I say I have only seen him a handful of times.

| Lets hope they go OK. Anyway I would sooner risk signing keen young lads than signing some one well past his use by date.

to be fair mw i dont care if they come from mars if they can pass run and tackle, (note to self approach SL about Mars franchise in 2012, cant do any worse than a welsh one, and would have more atmosphere)

| You know thinking about it, my best memories are all from the "british coal" shirt part of the last 30 years, Mark Conway, JT, Lazenby, Prices both, Andy Wilsom Mr Kelly, andy masons warm up, the frist time geoff bagnell arrived at BV, john glancy, Belly, respect to every last one of them................and none of those named would have ever let a season go like this on has!!
ah good memories

For anyone that remembers Howarth played at 6 for Wigan in the preseason friendly at Belle Vue this year.

| After watching Catalans today, there was one player they are really missing from last season who'd I'd like to see at Belle Vue as an overseas player.
Greg Bird.
