Fages would be a superb aquisitition and despite him finishing the season in great form for Salford he's looking at Dobson and Chase being in front of him next season. No doubt he won't be happy because in 2013 he played well but found himself behind Smith & Chase he's done very well in 2014 but is second fiddle again for 2015.

I'd take Hock on a pay as you play "Last Warning" status as we did with Cockayne who worked out fine.

We don't need Hock we've got plenty of good back rowers. Fages for Sammut is almost like for like with Fages being able to play 6,7 & 9.

Having players released will mean no signing on fee for Trinity (which is a must) so we could be picking up a couple of 'squad fillers' like Davies/Hope plus getting our main man in Tim Smith but losing Jarrod Sammut.

I like Sammut as an off the cuff player and would like him to play stand off with Smith at scrum half. However, if Sammut is not going to be a regular we need to move him on as we cant afford a wedge of our salary cap sat in the stand for the majority of the season.

If Fages came this way I'd play him at Stand off alongside Tim Smith with Pita Godinet coming off the bench as interchange hooker with Paul McShane who definitely benefits from a break during the game.

Let's not forget it's only one season ago since he was superb for Widnes and rightfully walked into the England World Cup squad. It all went wrong when he went to big time Salford and he went right off the rails.

I can't see a small club like Trinity getting both Tim Smith and Gareth Hock without transfer fees with potentially Jarrod Sammut and another player going the other way?

The Tim Smith situation has been discussed to death, he isn't wanted at Salford and they need him off their cap and quota, while Tim wants to play at Wakefield and nowhere else which rules out other clubs.

Hock wants out at Salford who also wants him gone but more importantly Iestyn Harris would be too scared to go to work next year if Hocks still there, get the picture?
