North stand for me now instead of western terrace it's what belle Vue has needed for years.

Anymore scenes like last night and it will be the worst thing thats happened for years. The policy needs sorting and it needs to be policed rigourously.

I'm in the process of typing up an email to the club, so won't go into specifics. Neither side were blameless, both at times acted truly like a disgrace to RL, but this IMO stems from 2 CEO's who spend more time fighting with each other through the media & on occasions more underhanded political channels. Blame falls with BOTH those men, but ultimately with us as hosts.

My solution:

Work out the maximum number the north stand can hold (4000?). Barrier it off & man with security. Print simple tickets, to enter you show your ST/membership card & receive a ticket to get in, which you can use to enter/exit the stand as you wish throughout that particular game. Finally install CCTV throughout BV. Away fans are allocated tickets for the western terrace & have access to all facilities (with the exception of touchline bar) including new cover, away fans may also access the family area in front of eastern terrace.

The north stand needs to be reserved, the rest of the ground is essentially non-seg. Trin fans access all areas but have a reserved area. By restricting access to the north stand to ST/members we have a better chance of ensuring a inspiring & family friendly atmosphere- we'd have everyones name & address of needed!

what a load of ! How often do you here of trouble at a rugby game rare! But when you invite your own fans to take over the part of the ground were away fans have been welcomed to stand for years then you are asking for trouble! I think glover was badly advised by asking home fans to take over the north end, dont forget he's not from a rugby back ground he does'nt know the rivalry

The thing is that this sort of thing will carry on no matter what sadly.

As a neutral I have just read this thread in horror. Sadly moronic behaviour and appallingly aggressive attitudes are not confined to your clubs, this football-style poison is spreading in our game.

I despair for RL at times, I really do.

It's the adrenaline that comes from a roofed terrace though. Quiet fans want to sing, aggressive and or drunk fans want to goad or worse.

You have to imagine what a fully mingled Wheldon Road end would be like against Us or Fev. (We used to share the Wheldon road end until it got too intimidating 9 years ago) Imagine throwing Hull FC fans into the covered standing at Craven Park. Fev fans into the covered Halifax home end if more ground improvements took place at the Shay. Bulls fans sporadically sharing the South Stand during one of Headingley's many daft Stand cordoning off escapades.

It's just a fact that there is more passion from fans who are occupying a kop like area. To share the north stand in any fashion just isn't feasible IMO.

It might be traditionally an away end but since I've followed Trin (circa 1992) there as always been around 500-2000 Trin fans occupying that end. It would be unfair to make those feel like interlopers. Until around 2005 many fans used to swap ends. Something that died out at most grounds as fans almost subconsciously opted for segregation.

I remember plenty of Wakey fans swapping at Leeds, Bulls, Hull FC, Cas and even Salford at a time our away following wasn't that large. These end swaps always saw us mingled. I think rising crowds and the SL intensity factor has given the game an almost football feel.

I can't quite remember if we did it at Post Office Road. I never saw it at Wilderspool, who would have fancied that?
