| Quote ="Butcher"We weren’t very good, but it’s easy to see why. McGillvary, Thornley, Gale, Lino, Atoni, Ashurst, Uele all missing, and playing our fullback and hooker in the halves. It wasn’t slick, and we were a bit carefree with the ball but I’ve no doubt it’s because the players know we could be and it wouldn’t affect the result.
Fair play to Dewsbury - their forwards never stepped back and they scored a couple of great tries.
Thought Harvey Smith was very good, Doyle dug in, Olpherts too.'"
Add Vagana and Cozza too. Our injury list is horrendous.

| Good shout, had totally forgotten about them. Suppose it’s possible we might have all of them back in 7 weeks - imagine that team

| The problem is, we have many injured and the few that are fit are having to go through the ringer every week. Yes some will come back but at our attrition rate they will probably be replaced by others getting injured. We need a bit of luck

We do need a bit of luck. Players like Smith, Shaw, Croft stepping up has helped a lot.

It’s the props we will struggle. Bowden out would leave us with 3 props. Maybe Lingard might get another shot as he impressed.
If Atoni, Thornley or any other are fit it’s a bonus.

Put it this way, PT how confident would you feel if it was a Trinity v Toulouse final on current form?

If we had our full team out I'd put money on us.
But more to the point, the final isn't right now. Coming top is the next objective and I am very confident we'll do that.
Which then gives us the advantage.

Anyone know the state of Thornley, the bloke seems incapable of playing more than two games without getting injured.

| A wins a win, and that is what we got, with a patched up team. Players playing out of position, more hookers on the pitch than props and half backs.
When I saw the team I did think we was going to give the rams the run around at the tackle, using all the hookers at different stages of play.
Liam Hood playing at half back was kept out of the middle where he normally causes most damage and it may show in his tackling stats even though he did a good job along side to Max.
Maybe todays game came at the right time for us, knowing that we could rest some players but at the same time put out enough quality to see off the opposition. Roll on Friday.

If the capacity is around 5k, there must have been 3500-4000 there today.
Very few clubs publicise attendances these days, which is poor, really.

According to the Dewsbury forum they rarely announce attendances.

| Young Lingard looked decent when he came on, a real highlight of the game.
Hopefully he'll get some more game time in the coming weeks.

| Lots of positional changes leading to different plays, at least the coaches got a look at some other combinations. The team did what it had to do not pretty for parts but Dewsbury other than when they went in for a try never really threatened to get in the game, that said they gave it a go and caused us a few headaches (no pun intended). Some young lads got long minutes, Booth and Smith and Linguard got a stint that he took well and didn't look out of place. Comfortable after 80 minutes but as Powell said clunky.

it's an IMG thing for SL clubs, I watch most games on the telly and the crowds are looking really low. However they are not going to give out true attendances , they will just put figures down to keep their averages above the 7500 Mark.

There's no point a team doing that.
The numbers are audited anyway according to the RFL update on the criteria.
And if you fudge the numbers, you'll get caught out when you have to put a big difference in.
I'm not sure anyone is close above or below the 7500 mark to need to cheat.

This weekend is the first time I’ve known Cas not to publish their home game attendance.

They’re fibbing
They nearly always announce attendance, I’ve been going last 3 seasons with my lad playing for them, I would guess that yesterdays attendance was around 3000, they get 400-600 most games, only Leigh Fev batley and Bradford ever take it over the 1000

If they only get hundreds normally the ground suits as it is I guess.
I always like going there.
