He doesn’t need to be a messiah with the defence, just anything approaching solid and reasonable will be a big step up from what we’ve had so far in that department. Sounding more and more like he won’t be in charge for too long anyway.

| Interesting point expressed by CC in his recent interview when asked about Furner, Quote " players win matches, coaches loose matches" a reference to most people/fans views - I think ? However, certainly not mine.

I'd imagine a bit like Roosters Assistant Coach Adam O’Brien, he'll be eyeing up a big NRL gig sooner or later. Both are in the betting for the Leeds jobs but also both are very highly rated down under as assistants and if he came over and it didn't work it could derail his whole career. You never know though.

| If he asked me for advice, which clearly he hasn't, I'd say stay as you are.
His prospects to go from where he is now to be in charge as Head Coach are much better in Oz.

| Did JD not openly say only a few weeks a go that he would snap at the chance of a head coach gig in SL? Whether or not it is the right move for him or not, it is a big opportunity and quite a good one - The Leeds board seemed to back Furner with funds for players and lets be honest the side that they have over at Headingley isn`t as bad as they have shown, okay I don`t think they are top 5 material but you would say mid table based on ability. The only real negatives for me looking at the role would be the apparent control from above and the pressure of a unreasonable bunch of fans - Lets be honest, is there any other group of fans out there that would be calling for the head of a coach that has just made history by winning the treble?
Oh and IMO, I think they could do much worse than stick with Agar for the rest of the season, I think we will see an improved Leeds under him.

| If JD were to take the Leeds job I think it would share many parallels with the situation when Tony Smith took the Rhinos job.

I have listened to this and it`s a good interview, but I would not take everything he says as gospel - What he says is the opposite to what I have heard from some of the players he has played under, from what I here John did not exactly help his case by turning up with the wrong attitude and concentrating more on his next night out with the lads but he fails to mention that - For me personally I put it down to sour grapes from an ex employer but who knows.

Seeing as Isaac John is listed as a former RL payer aged 30 and hasn't played since 2015 with a total of 49 games to his name I tend to agree with you. Jordan Crowther has played nearly twice that many at aged 22 although none in the NRL I grant you.

| To be fair to Agar, he led us into the top 8 in his first season. Not bad, and even more so when it was an entirely new squad just about, all of which bar maybe one or two were brought in before he was.
In his second season, with about 5 games to go, they were there, or there abouts, but, with the debts, some of our players were sold off immediately. I think we finished the season with Cockayne and Liam Kay in the halves.
He started following season the season with a cap spend of something like £1.2m I think I read, and started off ok. For me the wheels fell of when Sammut came in.
For me the 2015 debacle was down to James Webster, pretty much saying by about round 4-5 were looking at middle 8s and MPG. Hardly putting confidence in your squad. He should have walked as soon as he said it for me

Exactly what I heard.
Two sides to every story and from what I heard Agar was right to not play him.

We only made the eigjt because Bradford were deducted points. We then crashed out of the play offs straight away.

| And the 7 or 8 wittns on the spin we had were nothing to do with it.
Using that philosophy Wilzay, you could say that we only got into the 8 in 2016, due to Salfords points deduction

When you say crashed out, do you mean we're beaten by the eventual winners when we were actually in the game and had chances to take the lead but Leeds just pulled away at the end when we were chasing the game?
Oh and no one else put that many points on Leeds through those playoffs either.
