| There does seem to have been a bit of a character assassination of Mariano over the last few weeks, almost as if the supporters have been acclimatised to his eventual departure from the club. It’s funny for someone who has been cited as lazy and as one who ‘cuts corners’, why these traits didn’t become apparent in 2011 or 2012. For what’s worth I think he is a cracking player and hasn’t really had a sustained opportunity during Agars tenure other than the excellent finish to last year when he had a run of games. Anakin has stepped up which has put pressure on Mariano’s spot, but he should be in over Mellars.
Still the club have lost better players and ultimately its Agars decision which he will either live or die by. I don’t think the squad is strong enough to lose such a player, but if Molloy has overcome his injury problems by the reports from previous clubs he may fill that hole.

Follow him to Fev, neither of you are that greater loss IMHO though I'd prefer Frankie to return after his loan spell if possible.

Strange because I have not been a fan for some time and think he's a bit of a show pony at times, is that a character assassination or an opinion? I've read some real character assassinations on here most notably Paul Aiton isn't a no 9 springs to mind. Frankie has got of likely by comparison due to his imho undeserved cult status amongst some.
He's on loan he still has a chance to retrieve his Trinity

| That is a good point Vasty. He is on loan. He has every opportunity to prove himself with regular games.
My view is that as a running forward he could be as good as Andy Kelly was. Andy was intelligent and ran great lines. Clearly he understood the game more than most as he became a good coach too.
The difference is that you saw Kelly all the way through the game. He wasn't a work horse but he had all round skills. on top of his running talent.
Mariano frustrates me a bit because you notice him when he runs the ball at a gap and he has good players to give him the ball at the club but unfortunately, you ONLY notice him when he does the run. I don't notice him when the hard yards are needed and I don't notice him when we defend.
That's not to say he doesn't do it, but I don't see him.
If he could fix up that part of his game, he would be at St Helens or Warrington.

It's not so much supporters opinions, but people hearing whispers, I assume, from sources close to the club he's a poor trainer. He's OOC at the end of the season so barring a injury crisis I don't think he'll be back.

| Does "on loan" to a lower club mean he still trains full-time with us and just does game structure and match days with them??
If so, he still has plenty of opportunity to get himself back in the frame.
And it's a long season...

Don't honestly know if he is a bad trainer, I'm just going on what some of the more sensible posters are suggesting. It seems the most rational reason - or simply that he doesn't fit. At the end of the day Agar has to make 20+ personalities many of which are quite strong blend together. He simply has to make the hard unpopular decisions that the rest of us don't have to that's what we pay him for.
I'm not "the coach is always right" I am however very much the coach knows his team better than I ever will. If he wants Frankie out so be as the other alternative is Agar out. If folk have lost confidence in Agar which is fair then they really ought to say so rather than question his every decision. That's not you by the way.

| Every time Mariano has played hes proved his worth. What has Mellars done to justify a spot? Washbrook is the A in AVERAGE but yet is in everyweek Mariano above average yet loaned out. We have a coach that won't play him for personal resentment not ability its a joke. I have gone off Agar now and this loan out rubbish for experience hasn't sat well with knowlegable fans. Annakin deserves his place and so does Frankie !

Can't remember exactly where the quote came from but remember reading a RA interview, he was asked why FM was dropped and he said "he's been dropped for cutting corners at training", make what you will of that but seems pretty clear to me!

Was it Danny Washbrook who got an award for most tackles in SL in a season last year? Just a thought.

| I'll defend your right to opinion NGB4C but I couldn't disagree more about Washbrook. He is a massive part of our team.
And more so, if you do want to play Frankie, you need a Washbrook even more for his workload in defense alone.
You have to have a balanced team.

Back up your points then, lets see some facts to back up your bold claims.
Any idiot can post the stuff you do (as you prove so often) any chance of you adding some substance to it though?
Lets see something to substantiate your claims!!

To be frank I’ve never had the confidence in Agar to lose, but I realised he’s’ here for the long run so I kind of accepted he’s the coach and as I said before he will live or die by his decisions. He knows a damn site more about the game then I ever will and when he’s talking about the game he makes a lot of sense so I’ll get over anything I disagree with.
