| well good on him for staying loyal, there's not too many who would have done that they would have looked at their own future and thought they would jump to a more stable ship

Of course he can. No one can force you to take on a job/contract you don't want to take.
Ferguson, like others in the past, will sell it the way they think best. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame the lad for going. He has his future to think of too. For him, this was the best decision. For others, it won't be. I don't care about Dale Ferguson now, he's not one of us. I [ido[/i care about Aaron Murphy. I hope he has a brilliant season with us.

| Surely if a players that good he would have stood a decent chance of joining a sl club at the end of the season anyway without jumping ship now

True, but what if he gets injured? What if his season goes down the pan? Who'll come in for him when his SL contract expires and we're playing in the Championship? You never now as a player. Huddersfield had made noises about him even before now, so if he wanted it, now was the time to do it. Not far to drive, stable club, rich owner, decent coach... OK, the jersey looks like a dog's just barfed on it and the fans are crap, but as a wage earner, you'd put up with that, wouldn't you?

I'm not knocking the lad, btw - I'm delighted that he wants to stay with us - but I'm sure he won't be with us next season, and a full season in the spotlight with us will raise his contract bargaining value against other clubs.'"
I bet if you asked him that he would not know, I sat at an audience with along with about 200 other fans in the cats bar when he was a guest an every question he answered was er I dont know I've never thought about it, and seemed to me that he is so unaware of things that happen in general and is quite content to carry on doing what he is happiest doing and its no surprise that he is happy to stay with his mates at the club.

| I don't think he would have been sat in the stands. Right now they have Grix lining up at Fullback.
Much as I like Grix, and would ave him back right now, Murphy is a better fullback.

Thats the impression I got, He seemed uncomfortable in the spotlight with the personal attention, whereas on the field he is just part of the make up of the team and gets on with it, btw I am a practising part time psycologist I'm sure there should be an h in there somewhere. It goes after the c; otherwise, good effort.
I was at that same evening; Murphy just looked embarassed and a bit scared to be honest - which is understandable for a young lad being grilled in front of a room full of people. His stock response to every questions was to go red and say "I don't really know," then laugh. Closely followed by the women in the audience going "Awwww" in a motherly kind of way.
Ben Gledhill, on the other hand, despite being of similarly tender years, was a very thoughtful and articulate young man; not at all your stereotypical prop forward.

Indeed. Ben is very articulate and not at all shy. Aarron is very shy and doesnt like the limelight at all.
2 decent young lads with differing personalities.
