Give him the benefit of the doubt and enjoy the win!'" whats your problem mate. no lost ball, got ripped out. who cares which way he pushes a player as long as he tackles them. the guy played ok for my money. got stuck in, made some good yards, nothing fancy. looks fitter and faster than i have ever seen him. think we have got a right deal. when you hear nathan brown say " it will take weeks to get sculthorpe fit enough to play for shudds" it's not as if we have players queuing round the ground wanting to play for us. this guy wants to play for us, may not be the best in the world but at least he gives 100% well done korki. you should get behind our players, not take cheap shots. |

Who made a cheap shot? Its called having an opinion, sorry if you disagree - I am 100% behind all our boys and nothing would give me more pleasure than Korkidas proving me wrong and showing he deserves his God like status amongst some fans. Rest assured pal, if and when he does I will be the first one to appologise - unlike some I have been more than happy to admit I am wrong in the past.
I would love to play for the side, I could promise to give 100% if they gave me a game at the weekend, I would try my heart out and do if for no money too. Doesn't mean Kear should give me a ring though, does it? |

He was fit enough to be our man of the match only a couple of weeks ago so I wouldn't pay much attention to that. |

I've never understood the culture of over-praising the average, and perhaps thats why I don't see this as the second coming others do when technically and skillwise, we've got second best in this deal.'" mate, what do you mean "we have got second best in this deal". when the lump known as sculthorpe was constantly injured, constantly overweight. gave away his fair share of penalties. ok he had a decent offload , but a lot of them went to ground. brown says it will take weeks to get him fit to play for shudds. well over-rated imo. thats when he actually played. as for korkidas no one says he is a ball playing international forward or a willy mason or a bloody legend. only people like you take that seriously. he is just a straight forward prop that will take the ball up all day, make good yards and make mistakes as they all do. give the guy a chance. |

No I was not comparing him to Griffin I was just refering to how when Sculthorpe burned his bridges he would have only ended up sat on the Wakey bench as Griffin did at the end of his stay at Wakey and that signing Korki is better than a bench warmer.

Second best?
On a like for like with both players fit and more importantly wanting to play for the shirt that could be true.
However one of them pi$$es about on the coach and then suggests suing the club in a national newspaper over a 1 week fine.
Was he really gonna stay and give his all after that? |

Maybe we have but then again maybe not, we don't know the circumstances of Scullys fall out with Kear and the club, so to say we've got second best is at best a guess.
Korki is not a legend at Wakey and IMO no player deserves to be classed has "legend" or Hero for that matter, thats reserved for people who deserve it. |

Top and bottom of it is that Scullys recent behaviour had burnt all relationships with John Kear and had he stayed he would not have played again. As an outsider looking in, the players that took the field on Saturday looked a lot more relaxed and happier in their game. Why that should be and exactly what is going on within the club at the mo, I don't know. |

Yep so it can't right that we've got second best from the deal can it.
Thats not to say "who's" best but we have to deal with whats in front of us and i think Kears got this right, he's brought team spirit back into the dressing room. How long that will last i don't now. |

His big plus, as previously stated above is that he makes yards, even when he is first man in and the defense is strong.
That alone is worth some faults as Wakefield are lacking that at the moment.
People talk as if he fell off the planet when he left us but he was well regarded at Salford, he was their top metre gainer and in the top 10 metre gainers in the league that year. If you look on the Super League web site he was comparible with Jamie Peacock in most areas. I pretty sure we'd be happy if we signed him.
The wheels came off when he had to go to Cas. Wrong club for him simple as that.
At the Giants there were too many like him. Brown has hardly slagged him off but said he deserves a better chance. Let's give it to him I say.
I thought he made a good partnership with Stosic when they were on together. With Moore and Wilkes and sometimes Bibey we have a pretty balanced and a little bit frightening 4 props there.
I had a lot of time for Sculthorpe but we just weren't right for him. In a team whose game plan revolved around him he'd be great(ish) but that's not us. He has put some great try making passes in while he's been here but not enough to swap for hard yards.
Again as previously said, Solomona was a lot better at what he does and we all realised that the team as a whole got better when he left.
Too many posts about the small problems in a guys game rather than the positives in it. Same as for Rooney, Grix and Hendo. When they are not in we say they have to be in because they must be better than what we have, even though they haven't played after injury, then when they are in they are rubbish.
Korki is a good yard maker, balance him with a tackler
Rooney is a try scorer, cover his tackling or creativity somewhere else
Grix is an all rounder with lots of skill, either accept he's covering other holes or give him his position.
Hendo works harder than most in defense so someone else can score the long range tries
Current status is we are in 6th place with lots of improvement in us. I'm happy with that for now.

Exactly what I wrote - in terms of skill and ability I believe we have.
The alleged off-field stuff, baring in mind I doubt the full story will come out for a while, is difficult to comment on without the facts. Of course, now he's elsewhere, he's turned into the worst player ever to wear a Wakefield shirt in the eyes of some.
Yes, Korkidas may take the ball up...but so do our other forwards - we have 4 very similar styled props now. |
